(chants) More fates more fates!
(chants) More fates more fates!
You first quoted me on this:
Which was my answer to the #3 point, which was related to seasonal events. You still said Shantotto and Dragon events, which are not seasonal.Look at #2. In fact, only Christmas and the Summer event used FATEs.
I doubt the OP really uses 'related' the way its meant to be, more like 'consists of only FATEs' in nicer words. Or 'FATE based' is probably what OP is after.
Regardless, you can complete the whole Easter event without touching one FATE. You don't get anything out of doing them for progression.

I quoted that one because you said "look at #2" which was not strictly about seasonal events. You first quoted me on this:
Which was my answer to the #3 point, which was related to seasonal events. You still said Shantotto and Dragon events, which are not seasonal.

Regardless, you can complete the whole Easter event without touching one FATE. You don't get anything out of doing them for progression.I also mentioned a seasonal event. I thought you'd be able to follow the logic. Clearly I was wrong.
Why don't you think the OP used "related" correctly? I don't see any reason she wouldn't.
Look at #2 was a 'follow up' of my response. I could have copied pasted my response to #2 and my meaning would not have been different.
Because I doubt that she means 'related' in such light terms as we understand it. That's why I said her using 'FATE based' would have been more appropriate for her tone and argument. Why don't you think the OP used "related" correctly? I don't see any reason she wouldn't.
I see now that I should have quoted your answer directly to #2. That way I wouldn't have confused you so much.
I'm pretty sure the OP used the word correctly. Nothing in her "tone", whatever that may be to you, and argument leads me to believe that she didn't.
But I tend to take peoples posts at face value.
I hate Fates Now completely Sick of them. They boar me to death there is no depth to them. Bring the elemental reel back and that would make it more interesting and give this game battle system more depth.
They should rework the claim system so only 1 player/party on claimed mob(s), exclude boss fates on this.
That way at least it would cut down on AOE spam.. I think.
YoshiP seems to love it so much and it's not even an original idea of his own. Just what is it that makes him like Fate so much that he can be so adamant about this?
Is it the F.A.T.E. abbreviation? Maybe he came up with that abbreviation.
I wish someone would ask him in a live letter why do you like FATES SO MUCH.
Have any of you played "Rift". It was kind of a fun game while it was still wasn't free to play.
Anyway, it has something very similar to fates. The title item, a "rift" is a random event thing that pops in various spots all over the map as well.
Actually lots of MMOs use this idea. Warhammer MMO is another that did if i recall correctly. I'm sure you guys could come up with a bunch of others that have these random event "bubbles" that appear in zones in various places last for a few minutes and then fade, only to come back a while later. This is about as common to MMOs as the idea of a Sword+1 or healers, tanks and dps.
I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it in theory, but it is a overused mechanic. It might take some re-imagining for SE to get around using it so much though. If you think about it, does a Fate make sense from a common sense standpoint? Sure, the idea of a random event makes sense but, why do we know to go there? Oh, so like, we pull out our trusty paper map that we've drawn out...and "Omg look! There is this glowing blue circle that appeared on this map I drew! I should definitely go to the spot it's marking to see why such a mystical thing happened!" Since Fates are such a common occurance, and these map glowy things are as well, shouldn't there be some lore to explain why our maps are magic and can tell us where to go to find some drunk guy that is causing a ruckus and needs to be dealt with? :P
