    Dungeon damage from my character...

I seem to be pretty sure I suck at dungeons. When the bars in the upper left show stuff my number is like 136 and everyone else's is really high! I use the attack where it hits everyone at once, and my weapon does like 15 or 16 damage. But shouldn't my number in the left be closer to the others? Theirs are like 600. Can I use different classes weapons but still level as a marauder? What might I be doing wrong, or right?

As a marauder, your job will be to 'tank', or take the brunt of the damage so the other 2 damage dealers can kill faster. Your damage will not be as high as the others.

That being said, what numbers are you talking about? I assume you mean the hp/mp in the party menu? Your hp should be the highest in the group, but your mp will not be.

As a marauder, axes are your only weapon. In ffxiv your weapon is what defines your class.

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. Um I'll have to look again here in a minute. It shows all the bars in the upper left and there are numbers after that... Which mine are the lowest.

This image from the official play guide might help you to understand the numbers on your screen:

In the top left corner you can see the characters HP, MP and TP. When you're in a party, the HP and MP of other members are listed right under it. As a tank you should have the biggest HP pool in the group, but that's not always the case when you're playing with people with different level and gear level.

There are two very important things you need to pay attention to as a tank: first of all, there's a small bar with A right on the left side of the characters name on the party list (right below the class icon). That means the character has most enmity from the monster they're currently targeting. In a party there's a similar bar before the names of each party member, numbered from 2 to 8. The member with 2 is the second on the targets enmity list, the member with 4 is fourth etc. As the bar fills they're getting higher on the enmity list. You should be tabbing through enemies and checking that list to see if anyone is in danger of stealing the hate from you.

The second important thing is marked in the picture with 12. That's the list of all the monsters your group has engaged (and you have at least some enmity on). There's a coloured circle on the left side of monsters name, and if that circle is blinking red, the monster is on you. If it's yellow, your enmity is relatively high but the monster is after someone else, and if it's green, your enmity on the monster is very low. There's a limit to how many monsters are included on the list (I think 8 but not sure), so it doesn't show anything in very big pulls you might do at level 50. But it's still useful to look at in most fights.

As a tank, make sure your weapon and gear are always up to date as well as possible. Weapon is the most important piece of equipment. You may have trouble keeping hate when running dungeons with higher level people with better gear, but don't let it discourage you. Overpower is your most significant enmity ability. If you haven't yet, you should unlock Warrior and use Defiance always. Flash (gladiator level 8) and Provoke (gladiator level 22) are must-have subclass abilities.

    Good luck in your tanking!

Just checked your Lodestone profile and see you only have MRD to lvl 31. What you should do now is go to Uldah and unlock GLD then level it to 15, return to MRD guild in Limsa and take the quest to unlock your job WAR.

The crystal will boost your needed stats and also open up quests every 5 levels to give you important skills needed for WAR, most importantly the level 30 one, Defiance.

Don't forget that WAR essentially NEEDS Provoke so it's a good idea to stop at 22 instead of 15. I've heard too many WARs complain about leveling GLA to 22 so may as well get it out of the way now and not after you get yelled at during a boss with tank swap mechanics once you start doing end game content and primals
