1.18 -> 1.19 -> Steam implementation -> 1.20 -> Free Download + 1 Month free (Advertising and start pay to play)
this could work for me if 1.19 and 1.20 add enough content.

hmm lets see. almost 1 year.
optimize the game engine? fix the UI already!! geez SE -.-
Proper story that's the reason I play any FF game. Currently I don't think there's anything about the story that was memorable. Also the presentation of it is severely lacking meaning the pacing and the writing. If we could get a cohesive story with a beginning and an ending like in XI and in ANY FF title with this quality of cutscenes that would make me pay.
Also after changing to LL as a starter city I was disappointed to see that there's not that many city-unique missions as there was in XI which seems really cheap in comparison and sort of undermines the individuality of everyone's choice.
biggest one is party play, i know game is going solo friendly and casual(or is should i say) but if party play isn't doable 24/7 in this game like in ffxi then se will never see a penny from me. i don't solo and i'm waiting to see how the game ends up for us who love party play.
and like i said earlier, full servers and waaay more content that is worth playing. then i'll start using the 140bucks in prepaids i already bought cause i stupidly thought this game was gonna rock lol. but i'll burn all 140bucks and flush in toilet b4 givin any of that loot to SE if the game sucks and just never buy a game from them again. including ff's and kingdom hearts.
1. At least 4 -5 new Class to choose with.
2. Level Cap to r75
3. 20+ End Game NMs and a few HNM
4. Isghard and a few other cool area activated.
5. Mischellous stuff Dev team already mentioned.
Then, I'm ready to pay, as well as many others I believe
When FFXI first came out in US, SE offer THESE MUCH to us (Rise of Zilart)
Why is there any difference for FFXIV?
This is monthly payment we're talking about, not just retail 39.99 that you play and throw it away.
By the way, I find this topic very important and realisitic, but very few people give out their voice,
I guess after patch 1.18 more of this topic discussion will show up the case.

>> Alt-tab without crashing the game (in fullscreen)
>> Full, robust linkshell-management system that includes a message of the day option & the ability to kick people who aren't logged in.
>> Better grouping options, more things for parties greater than 8 to do (ie. more content for your whole guild, not just 1/4 of your linkshell members)
>> Better intro tutorial, with variations for different jobs (ie. don't make someone starting out as a miner sit around and throw rocks at wolves--this does nothing to introduce a miner to their role in the world)
>> Mounts, mail system, auction house
>> More content with more variety (and not just 3 different ways to press enter all day: grinding on coblyns, crafting, or gathering)
not many even go to forums, hell this is first game i ever stayed on forums really. specially after launch and after finding out what i need to know b4 i buy a mmo. in reality most people will just leave, just like they have been, if they staying it don't really mean they plan on staying neither. the few that care are probably posting already, or i should say those who want a specific game are on the forums still lol. outside that who wants to waist there time talking bout a game when it should of came out with the aspect of yes i want to buy it or no i don't. that is all most people expect there to be.

World needs to be redesigned for me to pay. I'm not paying to run around in the same 3 zones I have been running around for almost a year now. I don't care if you have to divide it up into East, West, North, South Thanalan, Black Shroud etc. There needs to be smaller zones with more variety.
MMO to me = about exploring and feeling like I am part of a living world. Not being a part of of lifeless copy/pasta'd environments that not only does not promote exploring, they make exploring a chore.
These next two patches have the potential to bring the quality of the game up substantially. I think by the PS3 release things will be up to the standards of players.
