what they could probably do(which can prove difficult) is to probably make the object or wall behind your character transparent. worked for some games so it could probably work here as well

Yes this is pretty much my incentive on bringing up the issue as well.
It's not so much about the transparency of the wall that gets in the way, it's that the camera itself is forced to zoom in close to your character eliminating the large view of the battlefield.
I think she's suggesting a fix. It wouldn't be a good view if you're not autozoomed and the wall is blocking your view and you can't see yourself.
I went to U'ghamaro Mines last night and in a rare thing happened. A glitch caused me not to autozoom. It's a good thing that the walls became invisible as I can still see my character. This actually made it easier for me to fight the mobs in the area. Unfortunately, it went back to normal mode afterwards.


I see what you mean now. Yes having 1-sided transparency objects would be useful for small areas. Perhaps there could be an option to disable the auto-zooming as well.I think she's suggesting a fix.
