In Game Mic (Petition)

Not sure if this is where I should be posting this but here goes..
I want to start a petition to get a Mic service implemented into the game. I'v read that there are no intentions on adding one but I thought maybe if we can get enough people wanting it then we might get it. I think at least a party chat would be great. Maybe an FC chat or something but I could see that possibly getting out of hand. Big reason I want this is because some things take to long to type as apposed to just saying it, in the case of an instance. I also have several friends that have nearly and completely quite playing on the fact that there is no mic in the game. I believe not only would people be happy with this but I think more people would actually be more willing to pick it up again or for the first time.
I would appreciate as many people as possible leave a comment on your ideas about it.

in their post explaining why they do not want to add it they did recommend using Skype (free on computer-computer calls) or ventrillo which does unfortunately have a server cost. I believe if they added in game voice chat it would probably end up like Fable onlineplay where 1/2 the time you are in a town you are hearing several random conversations, however if they only go for party or FC voice chat SE did mention that it would eat up a lot more bandwidth.

Could you possibly provide a link to this information? I have looked and only seen evidence to the fact that they don't want it because people would complain about people not having a mic. I have played a few mmo games, not a ton, but everyone I'v ever played had a mic system and it didn't seem to be a big issue. By the way, I'm on a PS3 and don't have the option to download 3rd party programs to talk to my friends. They don't have the luxury either.

Sounds like a crock to me. The game is already segregated by chat capabilities and there isn't even chat in the game. And as far as bandwidth goes, it's not going to take up much sever speed. A chat with 8 people is going to take around 100-200 kbps. I think the problem is that they don't know how to implement voice chat in the game or they don't know how to get around an in game cross platform chat system. They talk like everyone playing on one server is going to be in the same chat. Eight people talking in a group isn't a big deal. I do it all the time playing games like COD or Battlefield.

You're not talking only 200kbps, you're talking about 25 kbps per person. 25 X 5000 people per server (avg) = 125,000KBPS per server. Even if you estimate only 50% actually use the in game mic function that's 300,000 people each drawing 25kbps. that 7,500,000 kbps minimum in additional bandwidth you need to have available at all times. Sure, you won't have all of the population on at all times but the issue is you need to pay for the bandwidth and have it available at all times. I'd much rather have the consistent updates and server maint as opposed to them spending on in game chat which, lets face it, is just a breeding grounds for trolls.

Also I'd prefer not to hear the hundreds of RMT in the chat channels "BUY THE GILS FOR CHEAPEST PRICE!"

This or hearing people raging over a simple mistake/wipe/new player (< This alone is the biggest reason why I think integrated Voice chat is a terrible idea)

This is not a FPS. Show me one mmo with GOOD integrated voice.

I'm pretty against the game itself having a voice option. My internet connection hardly handles the game as is and I'm not in a position to upgrade when I fall under the acceptable catagory to play in the first place because people want to talk. If their net can handle it, they can use team speak/mumble/skype/ventrilo. it would be easier to do that so those that want it get it and those that don't don't have to suffer for everyone else. I'd like to actually play my game thank you.
