Subscription billing on PS4

I purchased FF 14 on the portuguese ps store and i would like to know why i cant pay my subscription on my ps store or if this is even possible...?
I also would like to know what is the best way to pay for a subscription without use of a credit card, as i dont deem it safe.
I bought 2 psn cards to pay for my subscription for the 1st 6 months at least , now i will have to go and spend the Money again to use paypal services.
This is very annoying and i really hope i can pay through the ps store soon,if so when?

You then redeem that on the mog station. It's not yet possible to purchase through PSN.

There is no option (and I doubt it ever will be) to pay FF sub via PSN store unfortunatelly so the only other possibility is to purchase the 60 days time cards from amazon or game.co.uk

The Mog Station is secure, and it is separate from Sony's billing data centers (which some may remember were compromised a few years back). If you don't like setting up automatic billing, then as others have said, time cards are the best way to go. You should be able to purchase them from popular gaming stores in your area. Either way, you will have to go through the mog station to update your game time / subscription.

The PS4 launch of ARR had some technical difficulties (read: major muck ups due to a lack of communication between Sony and Square Enix). I for one am glad that my subscription doesn't also have to go through the PSN after the mucking about at launch just to buy the game.

Just a suggestion, if you really want to make sure everything is secure, including the transactions, get a security token, physical or the app, it makes it harder for your account to get hacked(not impossible, but much much more difficult, to the point where it's not worth it for 99% of people to even bother), and it'll ask you to use that as well when signing in to the mog station. As far as on SE's end, they are very much a company that believes in making sure their customers information is safe.

Balls, I topped up my psn about £30 just after purchase thinking I'd be able to pay the sub through the store. Don't have any more money in the bank until next Friday so guess I'll have to take a break for a week. I assume my char etc will be saved after my free month runs out until I re sub?

I guessing you don't purchase much through PSN.
I've never had any issues purchases items on the store and it maintains subscriptions perfectly (DCUO and music unlimited).
Don't let the one problem you had cloud your judgement on it.

I regularly use the PSN and am a PS+ subscriber. I was pointing out the irony of concerns for Square Enix's security, and therein wanting to use the PSN, when in fact, the company with the track record of being compromised is actually Sony, and not just any old security problem. Thousands of peoples' credit details kind of security problem.

Anywho. It's all history now. You guessed wrong, but that's because my text didn't carry the jovial intention of my post across the interweb.
