So, you're doing the same thing you did after beating first coil? Shocker.
So, you're doing the same thing you did after beating first coil? Shocker.
I like to:
- Do my Expert Duty Roulette
- Story Roulette
- Snatch up a map
- Do some beast tribe dailies
- Craft
- Level my other classes
I don't do coil raiding yet, but do plenty of other stuff. Still haven't gone and fought Levi Ex or Mog King Ex.
What I do do that keeps me busy:
1. DF Roulettes (Ex, HM, low level, main scenario) every day if possible.
2. Mine until I get either a Piesteskin or Boarskin treasure map, every day.
3. Go Treasure hunting, usually once a week with 3-8 other folks until I'm out of all the maps I've collected previously.
4.Work on completion of Atma books (at the time of this post, I'm about half done with Book 8)
5. Join a good Brayflox HM speed run, if possible. (myth farming).
6. Chat in my FC.
7. Chat in some LS I'm in
8. Send my retainers out for quick ventures, and also before I log off and sleep I send them out for a field venture so by the time I log back on they are usually completed.
9. Spirit Bond when possible.
10. Sell stuff on the AH.
11. Beastman Dailies. Plan on doing this even after I hit max rank on my final faction because they give out ventures now.
12. Help people in FC and/or LS with whatever is possble.
How about instead of asking what to do that helps just yourself?
How about asking what you can do to help the game, the community, your FC?
There are plenty of new players that will need help thru extreme primals, coil turns, etc. Why not help them? Why not help them get their extreme weapons or atma?
Is it not fun to hang out and help them thru their obstacles? I'm sure you didn't clear all this stuff on your own, now that you can and the have the ability why don't you try to help them and make friends along the way?
Says you... No game is designed around the hard core player, ever. Sure they have difficulty for you guys, but no developer can blast out content at the speed that you addicts clear it...This is a theme park style mmo. It is designed in a way that you run out of content.
unless you like vanity items.
SE designed this game to where you have play another game at the same time. There is just a massive lack of content, and the design philosophy of XIV will keep that massive lack of content even with new patches due to vertical progression only and constant content negation.
Just like a theme park... even the best rollercoaster gets boring after you ride it for the 100th time.
I had this conversation with someone I was farming myths with for atma books the other day...
I do my expert DR, to get the solidarity tomes I need to upgrade my gear. Then I do Brayflox SR's till I hate my life/can buy another book. I do the book, repeat the cycle.
That's basically it, unless I can find a group for something that seems interesting.
Not actively involved in Second Coil, wasn't truly involved in First Coil until it went to DF, raids just aren't really my main interest point. Though the lore in it is nice.
So my daily routine is basically -
Checking Retainer, setting up Ventures
Running Daily Beastmen Quests (took a break from them from lack of interest till the 2.2 patch came out, then figured I'd start doing them again to catch up. With apparently some bonus item coming out for rank 4 completion of all beastmen dailies I figure it's a good thing I did)
Expert, Hard and Trial Roulette for the day
Maybe running things on my Chocobo to get the bonus exp for the Challenge Log for the week.
Typically as things go at this point I'm finished with my Roulette and Challenge Log, without a static to do Coil/lack of interest, there's nothing to really compel me to log on beyond checking some retainer stuff then going about my day. I try not to treat the game as a second job and remain on for hours upon hours. I do enjoy the idea that I can log on for a few hours, get a few things done if I want, then log off and not feel like I'm missing out on something grand. Once 2.28 comes out I'll get engaged on the Novus part of the Relic quest since I finished Animus a couple weeks ago.
But yeah, that's me.
But he's not a hardcore addict, he just knows how to use his time more wisely than peasant scrubs.
Psht.
I haven't beaten coil 1-5 yet, once I've done that the plan is to beat coil 6-9. After I've got that far I expect a new patch will be out seeing as no one I play with has that much free time to dedicate to clearing coil.
If I had cleared coil and the ex primals though, I guess I'd just stop logging in. It's a themepark at the end of the day, I love FFXIV but I've loved a lot of games, once I've "completed" them I stop playing till an expansion comes out.
