Joining a specific in-progress DF group

The other day one of my FC members was in a dungeon and needed a replacement tank. Would there have been an easy way for him to recruit me? Or is the only way to queue randomly and cross my fingers?

Sadly, yes, the only way is to select the dungeon, select the in progress option and hope you get the right one, it's pretty annoying when you want to help out a friend, FC or LS member.

Rather ridiculously, there is no invite function for instances.

As said above - you simply need to join in progress to specific dungeon and hope to be paired with your friends. Surprisingly enough it seems to work majority of the time.

Can confirm my healer and I do this all the time. To pretty much guarantee all you have to do is have the second party NOT use duty roulette, but instead sign up for in progress on that instance alone. So far it's worked 100% of the time.

If there would be one, there would be this scenario.

Team of 4 start the dungeon. 3 players joined as a group, one random player comes from DF. Then the three players notice a mate of them has logged in. They kick vote the random player and invite their buddy. Next wave of complaints incoming!

Everything can be abused and every peace of Freedom is a new element to abuse. SE can never make it right for everybody and it is because of the mentality of some players.

Don't even need 3 for that. 2 is enough.

I just want to say that trying to join often DOES NOT WORK...

I have tried at least 4 times on both sides and it has failed to let the person join.. quickly at least

To be fair, timing, along with the particular instance, is everything. If you're fumbling around late - endgame dungeons at peak hours you're going to have a much harder time getting the sync up than you would during off peak and not so in-demand instances.
