    See, the people at Age of Conan have the right idea. They recognise a good feature but also recognise the flaw in the feature. So they keep the feature but solve the flaw.

    At SE, it's just a case of flat-out discarding any feature with problems (e.g., mob behaviours, active combat, collision detection, repair materials).

    I'm for mob collision too.
    It was really annoying seeing in the AA video the pugilist running through the mob to attack him from the back... the whole concept of attacking from different directions is pointless without collision :/

    What is wrong with people these days.

    Besides, since when after the first month in FFXIV has there been "extremely busy areas"?

    Without collision-detection you will never get busy areas because no one will want to buy such an unrealistic, backwards game.

    Again, it's a neat little feature, but a very minor one. And in spite of whatever amount of immersion that you get from it, it's not the end of the game if it dosn't get back in.

    I can take or leave it.

    I am for collision detection. Just because a game is a fantasy game, does not mean it can not have some sense of realism. With some games that have collision detection, if a pc or npc is blocking the way after a short period of trying to run through them you are actually allowed to do so. This would help prevent players from intentionally blocking passages. This feature would be turned off With mobs that are currently engaged, forcing you to actually run around the larger mobs to get to the desirable side and not through the mobs. The only problem would be with AoE healing/buffs spells. As it stands, conjurers do not have a really great AoE distance, their spells would need to be altered in order to supplement a party is surrounding a really large mob.

    I do agree with the OP who start this thread, have the old Collision Detection system back will be cool, as you will bumb into other player but can push though, and no more running up and down hill like it isnt there
