Collision Detection between players and the environment is one thing, but collision between players and other players (or players and mobs) is another. I think it was a mistake to remove the old system where players gained some sense of situational awareness when they ran into other players or mobs, and I think SE should seriously consider bringing collision detection back.

Don't you agree?

People might complain that it destroys their whole world because they happened to trip up on a marmot, but maybe next time you should look where you are going? That's just a suggestion.

It seems very unrealistic that you can run right through people.

Furthermore, the collision detection we had was only partial collision detection. In the future, SE should look at implementing true collision detection where players cannot run through other players at all. The same thing should be applied to mobs. Getting engulfed by a Dreamtoad everytime you do a leve is not very realistic. You shouldn't be able to walk through something.

I never played Age of Conan, but I believe they had collision detection. I know TERA has it, and I know ArcheAge has it. So obviously it's something lots of MMOs these days have. And I know just because other MMOs have it doesn't mean FFXIV needs it, but even if those other MMOs hadn't first set the precedent, I would still suggest it.
