    The Resurrect spell

I recently acquired the Resurrect spell (or ability), how does it actually work, or does it need to work with the topaz carbunkle active?

I don't have a white mage or summoner but, from my understanding, it's just a spell you cast on a downed player that revives them. Keep in mind that if you do not have swift cast available, it does have a long cast time so only use it when you don't expect to be interrupted anytime soon or need to do something else (like heal others).

    Heya ^^

Good job on lvl 22 ;p

This is the same spell than Raise for White Mages.

You only need you, nothing else. (no pets needed) You select someone who's dead and you cast it.

If you think it takes too long (it will) I would suggest if you haven't done so yet, level up Thaumaturge to lvl 26 to obtain the valuable "Swiftcast".

After that, you can even make a macro

    /micon "Resurrection"
    /ac "Swiftcast" <me>
    /wait
    /ac "Resurrection" <t>
    /p Raising <t>

You can omit the /wait if you want, but with some animation and lag, I leave it here and have no problem so far.

So you click on the dead person, and click on the macro. Boom! ^^

*Put the /p chat at the end to be safe. sometimes one macro will need you to mash button more than once, so it will interfere with the skills.

It will be good even as SMN, to help save some MP for the WHM, being the 'Raiser' muahahahaha

    Have fun.

Well as a new player I highly doubt they have THM up to 26 right now. Bur for later levels and high level play, you will want to have Swiftcast cross-classed.

When you see a downed party member you can start casting the ability to get them back up again. But do keep in mind that it is mana intensive and requires a long cast time. However ACN/SMN are the only DPS class that has this spell, and at lower levels it is the only one that can be used in combat. CNJ Raise does the same thing, but until they get the trait at a higher level, they can only use it out of combat.

Resurrection is useful when you are at the last boss of a dungeon and want to pick up the healer/tank/other DPS and not wipe and restart.

As a fun thing, you can get an achievement for reviving people in open world when they are not in your party.

    Hope this helps.
