Nope, glamours are disabled when in a PvP arena. The issue with this comes in PVP, I saw them do this with vanity systems for other games and there was outrage when mages started to glamour plate armor so people would avoid them rather than kill them first. Personally I think the PVP in this game is crap so it wouldn't bother me either way but I can pretty much guarantee you that that's part of the reason you will never see this happen.
EDIT: Didn't see someone already mentioned this. Go about your lives citizens.

That's funny since in PVP you do not see glamoured items. The issue with this comes in PVP, I saw them do this with vanity systems for other games and there was outrage when mages started to glamour plate armor so people would avoid them rather than kill them first. You only see the original gear.

You two should try reading past page 1 :P this thread isn't very long.
Glamours don't apply to PvP. Considering mage gear is DoM-restricted...
If you wanted an equivalent piece of gear, you'd be asking for harnesses and subligar, not restricted gear (and you'd have to give up the Acolyte set)
Also, I don't think restricting glamours to what your class can wear is a bad thing

But it's not... as this picture shows...
AF, Allagan, and PvP is class restricted, but I think that's it. Otherwise all mage stuff is listed as "All Classes" like crafting/gathering (non AF) gear is. I think changing DoM gear to "DoM only" would be a step in the wrong direction. :/
Acolyte, Plundered, Doctore, Toto-Rak drops, Battlemage, Cutter's Cry drops, Coliseum, Harlequin, Warlock (WP gear), Militia (crafted i55) and Strategos/Demagogue (AK gear) all are DoM-restricted greensBut it's not... as this picture shows...

Almost all of those aren't unique models and have crafted versions that can be used by DoW.
Specifically, the only models that are mage-restricted are only Acolytes/Cashmere, Battlemage/Cashmere, and Coliseum.
