Major Lag Spikes After Every Patch And Uodate

So, this game has become so unplayable for me after every maintenance/patch/update I get MASSIVE 8 to 15 seconds lag spikes. I can't do any EG content anymore. After 2 weeks, the lag spikes go away, briefly, then return with a vengeance. I have great internet of 55down and 14up, i run wired, i even tried WTFast. This is happening to all PCs in my home and it's only with this game.

Called Comcast to see wtf was going on and I was told it's not their issue to contact SE. I'm not calling them and paying per minute to get told its Comcast.

Subbed since 1.0 and this is the first this has been happening since 2.1 came out. Ever since 2.1 its been nothing but a PITA to play this game.

Anyone else having issues?

I had that issue too but it was fixed when I started using WTFast :/ not sure what could fix it if that doesn't work...

I shouldn't have to use WTfast though.. its stupid that i have to sub for a game and sub for a service to play the game. Enough is enough. I love the game and I don't want to stop playing considering i just charged another 6 months to my account but come on.

A couple of friends and I have been experiencing plenty of 90ks and lag spikes. All from different states/countries. Guessing it's a server issue.

not an option for me where i live. It's either Comcast or AT&T.

@OP I have had issues today but not until 10am cst reset time for the tomes lol. My guess it's not only the maint but maybe ppl running content which is making the servers act up for some players. It don't have to be all or none to be a problem. And not one isp is really to blame. I have checked my internet and am very confident it is certified A+ and that's good enough for me. I too have comcast , my internet routing leaves comcast tender loving hands right after chicago and then lvl3 isp gets ahold of it. Guess what, alot of us go through there too. No telling who all gets hit but it's not an all or none issue. The packets being discarded are random and it might not be everyone that gets it.

Incidentally I play EOS, Lotro, WOW, and many other games online with a variety of paths and requirements. All of them have one thing in common, they are online. And not a one of them have issues with making me dc or get lag. Just ffxiv. I have a hop near Montreal that normally on Mon , now Tues I guess , get's bogged down and its LVL3 isp hop. Have complained to them. Nothing I can do otherwise. They tell me it's what SE is paying for in service. TBH Things have been better. I have not had any real issues even after patch 2.1 went live. But today man it was murder. Luckily I survived and got my roulettes done for the day. Maybe tomorrow it will be better.

I was having this problem yesterday. I couldn't dodge anything when normally I have no problems doing so. On my screen I was well away from attacks too. I downloaded WTFast to try today. Not tested it on anything yet but a quick run around Gridania with it before I logged out and it estimated a 48-50% increase in performance.
