Cant seem to get the contrast right on the ps4 without making the colors look dull.

I accidently deleted this 4 times by holding shift and then back space I have a AOC E2752VH connected to the PS4 the problem is gamma on the monitor itself has 3 settings and the settings ingame don't really do much I did lower the contrast but only by doing it to an extreme extent I was able to make the X go away but I ended up with dull colors help?
