Leviathan ex is not that hard but i have sometimes issue

Hi guys, can you tell what you do to keep hate on Tails and Adds, and gain the hate of the Tails again (Medica is my enemy )

what do you do when the two first adds spawn ?
at the solo add, if i loose the hate of the tail, i ignore it (i don't think there a other choice), i got it back after this add is dead.

I don't get this issue all time, but when it happen, it can cause wipe

    My class is PLD

the trick is, after the first slam, you have to place youself on the side that levi will slam. this will allow you to atk him while sliding (same for all class you can still atk the boss if you are in range. with any instant action)
doing this, you can use fast blade on the boss, then run over to where the tail spawn and do savage blade > RoH, the first set of add should spawn after RoH. at this point you will have enough hate for a while.
after your malee add die, you should have about 10 more second before levi jump (provide that you group unable to push levi to skip jump/drive), use this time to build more hate. (you should be able to do at least 2 RoH combo)
once the caster pop, you hate on tail should be high enough.

the trick is your team need to focus your add first, that will give you more time to build tail hate
if you still have problem, you can drag your add close to tail,
then do, FastBlade > Savage Blade on Add and RoH on Tail (just tab target between the 2)

if it still not working, check your buff , you may forgot Shield Oath lol

    Heres what i do
when tail appears use fof and do one full ROH combo on it
after that take the adds that spawn with fast and savage blade one then ROH the other, bring them closer to tail with flash and cos so u can maintain hate on tail

After this u should have no issue afterwards

Provoke is your friend. Run to whoever got the aggro first, most likely will be the healer. Provoke, then use Rage of Halone for instant aggro, then slowly move back and use Shield lob, Adds will be the good boy and follow you to where you want it to.

Here's my Strategy for the tail. First, make sure Shield Oath is on.

Pop Fight or Flight while the slam is occurring. When the tail appears, do Fast Blade -> Circle of Scorn -> Savage Blade -> Spirits Within -> Rage of Halone.

    Now, here's where things split.

If the adds appear on your side of the boat: Grab yours and hope your fellow tank isn't too stupid to grab a mob that's 2 feet away. Give both the tail and the add a couple of flashes. Tail hate established.

If the adds appear on the other side of the boat: Hit the tail with an uncomboed Rage of Halone and run to the adds. Your GCD will be over by the time you're in range to do anything. Keep an eye on tail aggro and provoke immediately if you lose it. Drag the add(s) across the entire boat to keep tail aggro if you have to(You'll want to do this if you have a SMN anyway. Dots Baned to the tail don't reflect back to the caster). There's time to kill the adds, but less time to deal with a dead healer.

    For adds in specific:

First, this should only be difficult if adds appear on the far side of the boat. You have some ground to cover and your allies are already attacking.

If you aren't worried about tail hate: Shield Lob add 1, Provoke + Shield Lob add 2, flash a few times. Hate established, usually. Do not worry about positioning until you have hate. If a DPS gets hit by tail spines, it's not your problem :P

If you are worried about tail hate: Shield Lob 1, Shield Lob 2, flash, and pray. You can also try Fast Blading the tail on the way out, hitting add 1 with Savage Blade, and then add 2 with Rage of Halone, but that's a lot of movement.

Alternately, enact a strategy where both you and the MT both take one add each. It's easier to keep hate on one enemy than two, after all.

The Tail and the second add:

If you lose aggro on the tail during the second add, either you're doing something very wrong or the WHM is overhealing like crazy. As for the add itself, don't worry about who has aggro on it. It'll spend enough time stunned that nobody's going to get killed.

    Other things worth considering:

-If your WHM is using Medica at the very beginning, one of a few things are happening. One, you don't have hate on the add(s) and they're hitting your party. This is your fault. Two, DPS is standing too close to the healers and getting waterspouted. This is usually the DPS' fault. Three, your WHM is an idiot and overhealing for no reason. This is your WHM's fault. Four, someone is getting hit by the tail or head because they're between a tank and the boss.

Long story short: Your WHM should not have to use Medica during the first adds. If it's necessary, someone screwed up. Or maybe the entire party did. Either way, reevaluate the way you're doing things.

Some good stuff and some bad stuff here, in the simplest terms:

You have some great AE enmity and off GCD enmity. Try to manipulate the first set of adds so that you can utilize both. For the sake of example, I'll tell you what I do.

First, don't hit the head - imo its a waste of time. Slide to the tail, and as soon as you see a splash off the side of the boat, hit Flash. Despite the fact that you cannot target it JUST yet, it will apply 495 enmity to the tail. I will follow that up with 2 un-combo'ed RoHs, which the best enmity you can get in 2 moves.

This should bring you to the adds spawning, if they are nearby: Flash > CoS > Flash > SW (add) > Flash > regular 2-target enmity. If they are on the other side, a great trick is to use provoke while you are running into range of the add, it does not apply much enmity, but it WILL get the add headed towards you, instead of headed towards a healer, giving your DPS more time to hit it while stationary, and you an easier time starting AE enmity on both the tail on the add once it gets back. So, Provoke > Shield Lob > Shield Lob > CoS (as it is back at the tail) > Flash > SW (add) > Flash > regular 2-target enmity.

My rotation is similar to Donjo.
Sword Oath and 2 full RoH combos. Shield Oath during slam, then run to the side where tail will appear. After slide, FoF > target tail > FB > SW > SB > CoS > (position northerly) RoH > run north and Shield Lob add tail side > run back towards tail w/ another Shield Lob > position it to where the add is in the AoEs (if they're there, northerly so melee don't get hit by tail swipe) > uncomboed RoH > then continue tanking the add solo but CoS should be up which should help with the tail.
This is assuming the head/tail popped south after slam. If it pops north: FoF > target tail > FB > SW > SB > RoH > target add + uncomboed RoH > CoS. The only time the tail should lose threat is if the dps did not switch to the adds fast enough.
For the mage add: FB > SB > run head side and target mage add > RoH > CoS > uncomboed RoH x2 > stun lock. Save SW for the end of stun lock in case dps don't kill it in time and you may silence one of his cast, I forget which.

Full RoH combo on tail when it appears.
Get to the adds, shield lob one, CoS the other, fash on both, continue flash spam. (Provoke an add back if needed). After enough flashes go back to tail before adds are dead (the dps will finish them off for you anyway), combo away on tail.

Single add spawns, you just grab it with whatever, or run to the person that has aggro (you going to stun lock this one anyway so having threat on it doesn't really matter anyway)

If they spawn across the ship, as soon as I see their names appear on the enmity list I pop Awareness and Rampart while I'm running into range. I watch where their target lines go and as soon as they converge to a close enough distance I use Circle of Scorn > Flash spam and slowly back peddle to get them to face away from the group. This works every time even with DPS who are able to force Levi through phases because they're hitting so hard. Generally no one ever gets hit except maybe an initial love tap on whoever the adds first target but its never any serious damage and everyone else should know better than to stand in range of melee sweeping attacks.

you really don't have to tank these adds, it helps to tank them but they die so fast it doesn't hurt to let the DPS tank them while you build up your emnity
