PS4 Screenshots

Ok, just how do you take a screenshot on the PS4? I had assumed that since it's L1+Start on PS3, it would be L1+Options on PS4, but it isn't.

The strange thing is, I've apparently taken a few accidental screenshots and a couple accidental video captures on the PS4, but I still haven't figured out how to make either happen when I want them to.

when you hit the share button, it captures a screenshot, or hold it, abd it pulls up the share menu, and you can save the screenshot. double pressing share starts manual recording gameplay.

Be aware though since the capture isn't instant like PS3 and PC, there's like a 1 or 2 second delay, so you need to press it in advance if you want to capture a crucial moment.

When I tried the Share button, it exited out of the game to bring up a PS4 window for setting up Facebook/Twitter accounts (neither of which I'd ever use—totally worthless feature). Does that mean I held it too long?

And is there any way to disable that, so I can safely use the button for taking screenshots without risking it exiting the game right at the crucial moment I was trying to capture an image of?

When in that menu, go to Options, there should be an option to switch it to Quick Screenshots or something.

You can easily get back to the game from that window, it doesn't close it

I haven't changed any settings yet but since the update you have to press triangle if you want to save the screenshot. Found that out the hard way when I did a whole heap and when I went back to look, none of them were saved lolol

That's only for the screenshot that's taken when you bring up the Share menu. At least it should be.

It's set by default for long press to do screen shots and short press to bring up the menu, you can change that in the window it brings up.

And I didn't have to setup a Twitter/Facebook account, mind you it asked me if I wanted to when I fired up the PS4 for the first time, and the first time I used the share button now that I think about it...

If you have a keyboard plugged in with PS4, the Print Screen key works also.

As said above - change the share button settings that the short press will take the screenshot and long press will take you to the share screen - that way you don't need to leace the game screen at all to take screenshots however it still have a slight delay so for taking picture of actions like jump or some animated emoted you need to tap the button a little bit in advance.
