Biggest bit of advice for any class, read your abilities, damnit.

That guy only got to 15 minutes.

I've been in the queue for an hour and fifty-five before a pop.

I try to think of it as;

* Time to craft
* Time to grind
* Time to FATE grind
* Time grind my Chocobo
* Time to get my "bio break" out of the way
* Time to explore side-quests
* Time to consider leveling my tank-maybe-uhhg-I-guess-so
* Time to DAMMITITPOPPEDRUSHTOSWITCHCLASS/STOPWHATIMDOINGIN30SECONDS

especially if your in the middle of a fate and you can't switch, so you take off running, but even though you're OUT OF THE FATE, the stupid enemy aggro list is still there so you STILL CAN'T SWITCH JOBS, so you run run run baby run til it goes away, hopefully in time to switch and ready up.. they've seriously gotta do something about that though, on the real side of things

Just correction with your list, you cannot grind your Chocobo. You cannot be in the duty finder with it summoned as it is considered a party member.

Really not sure why the game can't just let you accept the queue on whatever class you are on and change you to the right job as you enter.
