1) Can you link macros? Tell a macro to use a macro.
2) Can you command sounds (like the chat noises) into a macro? Only you can hear these.

I don't like The Loadstone's posting restrictions so most my posts will be found at ffxivrealm.com.
1) No
2) <se.#>, like <se.1>, <se.2>, up to I believe <se.16>. You can use /echo to make this only hearable by yourself.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server
3) Command to display current time in chat (or echo)?

This may come back to bite me in the rear. What are some off the purposes are these macros are being used for?
The only reason I ask from my experiences with macros stemming from the only other mmo I played ,ffxi. I understand what the point was then . Melee especially when TP burn party's came around, you would have tp build gear then your ws gear and mages would have theirs staves depending on spell.
My point. You don't build TP in this and game or rest to regen MP. For limit breaks it makes sense gift the designated lb person but even that builds on how the party's performing off someone's been lying to me lol. but that's why I'm asking.I know till can't change jobs in dungeons bcyz I accident hit hotbar icon in one.. would great swaps fall into this category?
Well I'll probably get ripped but I won't learn if I don't ask .![]()

Player
You can't gear swap mid-battle, so that function is out.
Macros are mostly used for various functions like changing your target to whatever the tank/another player is attacking, giving off warnings or timers for various boss attacks, and utility stuff like making the Scholar's fairies heal whatever target they heal with their own spells.
@ repoe
I use macro's primarily on my tank to stack multiple abilities on a single macro, namely abilities that are off the global cooldown. That streamlines my rotation while having as few abilities on the action bar as possible. Another useful aspect of macros is using it to stack abilities that you would only use when synced to a lower level. An example being to heal on a CNJ/WHM when I have free time i can spam some damage like stone/stone II, so I have them all on a single macro where if the strongest isn't available due to level sync it will use a lower level spell that is available instead.
Thanks for the infO
