O noes not fatigue! Lol, well I think there definitely should be areas only cross-able by chocobo jumps. Maybe in some expansion there will be areas only reachable with flying chocobos *stares at Dev team*
See now.. they could have kept the stamina bar for sprinting... Or jumping takes stamina.
GOOD JOB COMPLAINERS!

Lol this game was already laughed at for EXP fatigue... Let's add jumping fatigue, too! XD It would make more sense to add running fatigue.

Maybe this would be the gateway into adding airborne or island/underwater content. Maybe you'd need a few flying birds to access land that is otherwise unsuited for airship travel, or travel across bodies of water that large objects like ships can't make it through. Maybe dungeons could be accessed this way. They could also create various paths through places, and in order to access alternate routes, you might need chocobos to jump over cliffs or large downed trees or whatever.
...Now that I think of it, a "stamina" meter for chocobos(think of the carrot meter from Ocarina of TIme and such) might be conducive to some interesting racing environments. If you sprint with your bird or leap over an obstacle, the gauge is reduced greatly, while running at reasonable pace would recover the gauge. This might also be good for general traversal to prevent people from going apeshit with it.
Assuming that Yoshida is able to have chocobos combat ready, that might also be an interesting combat mechanic. Say when the stamina gauge is full, you can use like a "choco-charge" attack or maybe different types of abilities based on chocobo type, kind of like the limit breaks for your Wyvern as a Dragoon in FFXI worked. That would add some variety I think.
...I just had an idea sugar shock... >.>

You do realize that if anyone jumps twice in a row for no reason, you'll still get annoyed, right? Let's try and keep pointless limitations out of the game, shall we?
Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

I actually think some sort of stamina system for jumping and sprinting would be a pretty groovy idea. Be it for Chocobos! or even players.
Would also be a great way to add some complexity and incentives to pro chocobo raising, and to get players to spend millions of gil and countless hours raising their chocobos just right until they become Rocky VI

Yes
If people can jump then chocobos should be allow to jump aswell
and it doesn't matter what FFXI players think

I don't remember what post it was from by Yoshi-P, but I was under the impression that we'd only be able to jump at certain points, like on FFXIII. Honestly I think that would suit this MMO a lot more than watching tons of players jumping in place or hopping like a kangaroo across the plains.
Edit: hit the post button too soon lol ... I think chocobo jumping would be awesome if it was done like that anyway, even if the player jump system isn't.

Actually, in the latest interview (the community team interview) he said we were getting the traditional unrestricted jump we find in most MMOs.I don't remember what post it was from by Yoshi-P, but I was under the impression that we'd only be able to jump at certain points, like on FFXIII.
