The advantage of a 64bit version would probably be no longer running the game via Windows On Windows (WOW64), which all 32bit processes run under when used on a 64bit version of Windows. Technically WOW64 has some overhead versus a process running naively. Realistically the overhead is so small it's not a concern and run as well as if being run on a 32bit version of Windows.

The "PS3 version's is to blame" excuse is a complete red herring. It's a completely different platform, running a completely different build. It would be like for me to say your old Android phone is holding back my new iPhone. It's silly and completely untrue, and should be regarded for what it is. Utter nonsense.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, the devs have actually already said as much. It's true that the PS3 version can't affect the other versions of the game in and of itself, but the developers [currently] refuse to add any important functionality to the PC or PS4 version that can't be implemented on the PS3 version. This mostly comes down to additional simultaneous UI elements at this point, but the PS3 is more or less at the capacity of it's memory so it's difficult to add certain things that wouldn't cause any problems at all on PC/PS4.

The PS3 already lacks some of the functionality of the other versions. It lacks traditional hot bars, the inventory grid, and gil/seals display elements, all of which exist with the PC/PS4 version. It can only display a single log window onscreen at a time, where as the PC/PS4 can display each window individually. Originally it the PS3 lacked the focus target window. This was addressed with the 2.1 patch. When the focus target window is displayed, the experience bar and clock are hidden, I assume to free up memory the memory necessary to display the focus target window.

To be perfectly honest - I like the game graphics how they are (though they could be more efficient and DX11 would accomplish that). What I really want is a properly configurable interface. I want smaller font sizes and as many chat windows as I can fit and still see the game. I want to be able to configure the hotbars so they can be changed from vertical to horizontal, if I want to change the layout from 8x1 to 3x2 I should be able to. "Because it wouldn't work on [insert console here]" is simply a lazy excuse for not using the full power of a desktop PC.

Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.

Tonkra I cant tell the different between those pictures and what is currently in game.
I'd like to think they're refering to HD textures as not only more shaders but actually re-working some of them too.

Would love DX11 to be sooner rather than later though.

They said at the london fanfest the DX11 client is finished coding wise, it just needs optimising and they are working with AMD and Nvidia to make sure it plays nicely on both, they are hoping by end of the year to give an update regarding this area of progress. The 64 bit client, no news on that, but people want more visual upgrades, Im one of those considering I have the hardware to leverage it, game does perform well to begin with, so more visual options imo is the better start, what the game needs more over 64 bit is leverage 4 or more cores fully, multi core cpus are coming down in price, this will give people the biggest performance boost imo.

The textures and models were way higher quality back then. Also lighting in some situations.
Those pictures don't render what it really was those, from the looks of it it's not max quality, and his texture filtering is not up at all.

If I'm not wrong, they said they were working on the DX11 client with NVIDIA, but nothing about AMD.
AMD doesn't do much work with MMOs, they do 1 maybe 2 drivers with specific updates, then thats about it. So I really would be extremely surprised if AMD has a hand in the developement of the DX11 patch.
