Leveling a DPS class, any thoughts/tips?

Ive leveled a few classes to 50, but I am finding it to be ridiculously painful to level the DPS classes. So far I have THM/BLM at 50, but no others.

The typical response I would expect to get would be for me to utilize levequests, FATEs, quests or Dungeons, but that is still ludicrously slow and painful.

My process for THM/BLM was to queue for DF and do leves or FATEs while waiting for DF to pop. As of now my work schedule doesn't permit me to allot any time during "Prime Time" hours. I am usually on when the population is at its lowest. This tends to make DF queues for DF Roulette average around 45 minutes or longer for ranged DPS and watching my minimap fill up with Fates that no one is doing is just frustrating.

I've exhausted levequests. The gains are nice, but its really irritating to see DF pop and waste a leve allowance so you dont have to wait another 45 minutes to run a dungeon.

I know. It sounds like a rant, but if anyone can provide some insight I'd be much appreciative.

Park yourself around the kobloid mines at outer la noscea.

There are certain FATEs that revolves around the mine itself in a relatively fixed rotation and their cycle rate is pretty fast. And they are all NM type FATEs

The chain usually starts with:
The Miner in the Mirror - right at the entrance into the mines, gold will yields you 18k XP
Stopping the Shakes & Making the Rounds - inside the mines itself, gold yields 19.7k XP
Full Metal Alchemist - inside the mines itself, gold yields 21k XP

Due to the fact that it is a Atma generating area and also the FATEs are part of daily beast tribe quests, you will always see enough people doing the FATEs and each of them usually end under 3-5mins.

I brought my lvl 45 WAR there on last Sunday late noon, grinded there until evening where I went out for quite a while for dinner, and return to grinding until 11pm for raid and I gained 3 levels there (according to xivpads, total of 1,519,160xp gained that day).

The next day, I logged in after work and grinded again and it reached 50 before raid starts.

I say it's a pretty good spot.

Thats actually where I wound up grinding the last few levels for THM/BLM. I tried it about an hour ago and it was dead. No one around. This is pretty typical on most weekday nights when I find time to get on. Every once in awhile I'll see a couple of people running around but it isn't often.

Hmm maybe there are server differences.. it wasn't that bad on my side. Maybe try leveling a little during daily reset since the daily beast tribe players will be around there?

No idea now lol. That's why I haven't bothered touching my last combat class (all others to 50 already)..

Usually from 34 onwards I just grind at Coethras.. but on my server it's pretty sad right now, and only active during the couple of peak hours.

Dungeons are the fastest, and as someone currently levelling a blm, I can see how terrible the queue times are. only tip for this is to queue with a tank.

Dungeons are good if you have a pre-made and will run it over and over. Brayflox and Cutter's Cry are ok to run, but Stone Vigil.. I dread the sight of it, the mobs have ridiculous amount of HP

Other than that, DD SR before 1st boss yields insane XP returns, but again it lasts for until 44 or 45 due to diminishing XP returns as you level up.

But still, all these options are only good for a premade party.. which is tough to come by.

Fates in north thanalan while in queue for dungeon. Clearing 1st room of aurum vale, reseting and repeating from 47+.

Edit: ah, from odin also....yeah fates are dead here....

At level 44, look for a Dzemael Darkhold farming group in the PF.
It will level you up hilariously fast.

With a decent group, you can clear it in ~3 minutes. That's 50k xp for 3 mins. (We had a DRG and an SMN for this one)
With a great group, you can clear it in ~2:40.

Use that from 44-50. Easily the most efficient method out there, much moreso than Aurum vale.

Find someone in your FC who wants to level a tank or healer. Do the grind together, its way more rewarding! Also you get insta ques, and they get a DPS they can count on.
