I'm Back! With More Suggestions! Chocobo Dungeons and Race/Gender Quests.

So, as a bit of a side track from the main story which has been so freaking awesome. And adding in a side story similar to Hildebrand. I totally think that Chocobo Dungeon's and Race/Gender Quests should be added in the future. I'll break down the ideas for you now.

    Chocobo Dungeon:
Right now one of the only way's to skill up your chocobo is hard grinding. Which can be annoying and difficult. Even with the challenge log, the most efficient way is to simply grind like any other day. That is where the Chocobo's Dungeon line of quests and dungeon's come in. In a mix between a full fledged dungeon a guildhest, You unlock a Chocobo's Dungeon which allows you a three other players, along with your four chocobo's, to enter a dungeon together. These dungeons are themed with interesting things to do besides just killing monsters, but also include a few boss fights. Some of the things that you can do are Dig for treasure, a few jumping puzzles, and some other diversions. Every action taken in the Dungeon grants bonus XP to your chocobo and at the end of each boss fight you get chances for different types of job based Chocobo Bardings to drop. Things like Warrior, Thief, Black Belt, Etc. And at the end your chocobo also gets a huge bonus to their xp.
    Race/Gender Quests:
This is purely a means to trick SE into adding new Race and Gender Specific Armor. Introduce a line of quests for each gender and race in the game. Throughout the quest chain they drop individual pieces of Race Specific and Gender Specific gear which can be used for glamours and such later. Suggested quest starters would be Merlwyb for Female Roegadyn's, and Thancred for Male Humes.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I love the chocobo dungeon idea, but really don't like the race and gender specific armor. Restrictions are annoying and unnecessarily limiting. In fact I am against even class boundaries for items that can be glamoured (or transmogged, or any other type of system like that). If I want to give the illusion of being a mage type in full plate, I should be able to cast a deceiving spell to make it look that way. If the race or gender specific items gave stat bonuses unique to that race/gender that would be fine, but I'd like to be able to glamour it reguardless.

Chocobo dungeons sound like a great idea, and if they enter to half arse it, they could just set it up like a retainer venture!

I'm hoping when they say they want to redo the companion system, they really redo it!

I disagree completely. I love things that are unique about my character. Part of why I don't play WoW anymore is because they homogenized absolutely everything. I don't want to see FFXIV go the same route.

Yeah, I'd like to see something unique show up that can be used to more readily identify us as our race if we want it. Especially since as a Female Roegadyn our Starting Armor is pretty boring. Out of all the starting armors I think I like the Lalafell's the most.

I find uniqueness in making and designing the outfit. A lot of uniqueness is taken away if certain items can only be used on certain characters. If you rely on predefined race/gender/class sets instead of mixing and matching a variety of pieces to make your outfit unique-- your outfit isn't unique (*Cough* judgement paladin set *cough*)

I know Titor wont like this idea either.

Quests for peoples God's that they chose at the start of the game.

I would actually like more involvement with the Gods that we chose. I feel like they were never talked about in game or even used. (As opposed to our starting city state which continues to haunt me up until level 50. I chose CNJ as my first class but I highly dislike Gridania! I love Ul'dah and want my character associated with that, anyway)
As long as it wasn't specific gear that would be ok with me. Maybe some other small vanity items, or maybe some kind of minor spell (like the WoW racials, cool that they're there but not necessary for gameplay), that would be awesome.
I took time reading all the Gods to choose the right one for my character, but actually forgot about it since creation until it was brought back up now.
*edit* at the time I didn't know that gridania would be my starting city/I'd be tied to it forever. By the time I figured it out I was already a fairly high level, and have no desire to relevel, so I'll just deal with it. (Unless player housing is only available to your citystate in which case I'll have no choice but to reroll :|)

They stated that they were looking into letting you change your home town after character creation. It'll probably be like the thing from FFXI where you went to their government and asked for a visa exchange or something and then became a citizen of their city.

I picked Oschon because he was the closest thing to the Real Life Odin by description.
