RL Girl here, playing male character. People who don't know me well call me a "he" all the time, and I'm not bothered one bit from it. To be called a different gender in a game shouldn't be offensive in any way. If it does sound insulting to you to be called a "he", then maybe you are the very root of your problem, for having something against guys and feeling so insulted being compared to one.

The internet is not a place for oversensitive people. Grow some tolerance, and stop being fodder for those rumors about gamer girls being drama queens.

The thing is that she is called the opposite of her characters gender. She even has a very feminine coded name. When I see someone with feminine coded name or have seen their avatar and see the person as a female I call that person she. Easy as that

Kimmy is not a very feminine name! Kim is a male and female name and Kimmy is a derogative of that. It's gender neutral at best.

I play a female character and get called by he or she all the time.
The thing is, you know which gender you are, or want to be that's all that matters.
Stop reading he and she and just see it as the same word referring to you as a person rather than to your gender, because people simply don't know.

You can not tell if it's a male or female irl, no matter how they behave in game, I've seen the same things from both male and female gamers over the years and on top of that plenty of people that pretended to be the other gender.
He/She is just a reference to you as person, nothing less, nothing more.
I rather have a person mistakenly call out the wrong gender than them calling me an it or something.

You know, for the number of folks going, "It's just a game," none of you seem to realize that it's kinda shitty having to deal with the exact same shit I deal with in real life in a game.

Maybe you all have a blast dealing with the shit that sucks in your life in games but I don't particularly.

Very few of you have any idea what gender dysphoria is like, having never experienced it for yourself, so you see the triggering of it as either something I have control over (that's not how it works) or the dysphoria itself as no big deal (it really really is). So, maybe instead of telling me to just deal with it, recognize that some people have to deal with shit that you don't, and try to be considerate of that.
