Which is funny, because "biological" women have typically found the overly frilly and revealing armor sets that have become run-of-the-mill in fantasy video games to be misogynist. "Boob plate" for example.

Not sure what point I'm really making, but your statement led to what for me was an interesting observation.

I have to disagree with you. Gender is not representative about how you dress or behave. Being feminine is not about frills and dresses and scantly clad armor, neither is being male about tuxedos, heavy armor, and muscles.

Also if you're covered in frills and scantly clad items it makes it even harder to tell who you are because many males prefer to dress their avatars like that while many female gamers tend to move towards more covering and conservative clothing. At least in my experience, of course everyone is different and to each their own, I have no problem with anyone until they attack me for making an assumption based off of arbitrary and somewhat random data generated in a game (IE calling a he she or calling a she he)

When I say the "Armor De-Gender's" Us I mean things like the new i100 Soldiery Gear. Even on Females it it makes it look like you have pecks and 8 pack abs, It removes any sense of what gender shape the person wearing it is. They could be male or female under it, but the design of it is obviously masculine.

As for "Frilly" When I say that I mean things that range from the Sipahi set to the new Light Plate Glamour armor. Stuff that's not just a male graphic forced on a female character. There are a lot of choices for glamour which I'm thankful for. And I change it up quite often. While appearing gendered externally is not a sign of someones internal gender, some people embrace their external gendered appearance and enjoy dressing up for it. This doesn't make them more or less the gender they identify as.

Not all Females prefer to dress conservatively.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Ok, I agree with you there. There are indeed times when I have to inspect the player to see what sex their character is due to their gear (including some males I mistake as females). So I agree it hides your body shape. I thought you meant that the stereotypical gendered clothes (Frilly armor etc) weren't there.

I'm so glad the in-game community is nothing like these forums.

Isn't the ingame community what caused all this because someone called the op a he?

Happens to me too. I have started to point out that I in game want to be refered to as a female. One of the reasons why I do not use TS is because then people will know I am a "man" behind the screen.. (I identify as ungendered, and in game I am female)
