It's an unofficial beta, although they would never call it that since we all paid for the retail release after all. Looking at it that way is a much better way to keep your sanity, as almost rebuilding the game from scratch will take a lot of time, especially with the quality of the graphics this game has. If you don't like it, don't play, it's no worse than an MMO you bought, didn't like, and quit before the first month ended (coughRiftcough).
