The light lock is great for healers or for tanks needing a quick swap. Just so you know though, there's a nice easy solution, while holding L2 or R2(Or both) down, use R1/L1, it'll swap between targets, specifically hostile targets.

when you hold L2 and R2, the (cross) hotbar pops up for actions.. never really tryied to hold them and press L1 / L2.. (or there were no targets when back then??...)

but when holding those and the pressing L1 or L2, it "hard" locks on to ememies and you can switch the "hard" lock on between them, nice! ...

(the buttons are really used to the max, kind of overused, ..a normal lock on, like the "light"for fast switchng would be imo enough.., but being able to jump back to the "hard" lock on fast, has it's advantages)

....maybe I should have started the game, my first MMO ever, with less "Mary Jane".. lol... (but those gorgeous landscapes are crying for Mary Jane ..., Mary Jane + beautifull landscapes are a nice hybrid...)
