Believe in your sylph story quest bug

    ISP: Montansky DSL 3Mbs

Date & Time: May 5 evening

    Frequency: Once, ongoing

    Character Name: Nastie Jazz

    Race: Hyur F

    World: Coeurl

    Class/Level: Lancer/27

Area and Coordinates: East Shroud 25x25

Party or Solo: Party 2 people

    NPC Name: N/A

    Monster Name: N/A

In-Game Time: Don't know, issue is ongoing.

Steps: Doing the quest "Believe in your sylph" At the point where you are supposed to stand on the white light and do /lookout. My husband who was in the party with me playing on a PS4 did /lookout first. After he did /lookout the white light disappeared for me and I am now unable to complete the quest. I do not see a white light on the ground. /lookout does not trigger the cut scene. Logging out does not help.

It's not designed to be performed in group. Try if it didn't actually take it as you've performed the look out as well, if not, abandon the quest and then start / accept it again to see if that helps.

Its a main story quest, it can't be abandoned. I've already tried acting as if the quest was completed and it won't give me the next step. I need help from support on this.

Strange - I was pretty sure you can abandon the main story quests as well (unless it was changed with some of the recent patches?) ... So you don't have the abandon button in the Journal for this quest?

You may be pretty sure, but I've actually tried and I'm positive. So far, every attempt I've made for support involves people not listening and treating me like I'm just some idiot girl who can't seem to figure how to do/abandon a quest. In game support has just punted me with copy paste responses.

I am experiencing a game breaking bug that is stopping me from continuing the game. And trying to get someone to at least listen or communicate with me about it is like pulling teeth. We were having a fantastic time playing and was really looking forward to playing this weekend. I even upgraded to collectors edition Monday so I'd be able run around on the Coeurl, and now this.

Maybe attaching a screenshot with your jornal showing there's no abandon button might help (as we see there's no abandon and also SE see the complete quest info)

I've actually reached this very same quest on one of my alts a few days ago (still not completed it) so I'll have a look once back home. And I do believe you and don't think you're silly or not capable of finding the abandon option (but I do work in support and tend to ask the "obvious" / silly questions just to double check ) - I was simply saying that I thought it's possible to abandon the main story quests. In regards of the "instant" / pre-coocked replies from GM - this is a "standard" procedure unfortunatelly - only thing I can suggest there is to persist and keep replying and politely explain that those instant replies are NOT really helping in your situation and that you'd appreciate if they'd actually read what you've wrote to them and assist you in "person" / with actual hand made reply instead. I had this several times and always was fobbed off first two replies by "robots" ...

So - indeed it's not possible to abandon the main story quest - weird. However I remember that I've had similar issue with this very same quest on one of my alts a few weeks back - I was just about to do the (or maybe already started) /lookout when Duty Finder poped up and after returning the glowing circle was gone but I've tried to perform the /lookout a few times in the aproximate location as I was able to remember it and in the end it did accept it and I was able to complete the quest so maybe if you'd try to do /lookout couple of times around the quest location moving around a bit each time you might luck out and trigger the cut scene? IMO it's worth trying. Good luck!

Thank you! It was indeed worth a try. I tried for a bit but wasn't able to get it to work trying randomly so I pulled up a youtube video where I was able to see the exact spot where the white light originally was and standing exactly there I was able to trigger the cut scene!

Perfect - glad it worked! And yes - you need to stay quite precisely in the right spot - took me a few tries too even though I knew pretty much exactly where the light was before. Other option is to wait for someone else to come there with the same quest and watch where they'll stand

Enjoy your weekend playing the game.
