Awwww, people have to do something more than once.

I'm sorry but having to grind something does not excuse a poor attitude. People choose how they act, the game does not choose it for them. If you're not capable of being polite then be quiet or if you have a huge problem with the people you're playing with just leave. There is no reason to be rude unless somebody is showing you the same level of disrespect no matter how you try to justify it.

The funny thing is, I asked at the very start of the run after checking the composition of the group, since there were 2 SMNs, "Is a SMN going to LB the nails?"

And there was just silence, no replies. No one wanted to explain and no one asked for explanation...

So I guess the grind is to get frustrated.... that kind of grinding....

It is NOT the content. It is the people. If the content is fine the first time around, what changed to make it bad? It is just like your commute, the road, the route is all fine, so what happened to make it bad... Same answer, it is the people, the drivers.

Sad state of our society. People will act like complete jackasses and treat others like **** if there are no consequences for doing so.

It's the convenience. There's no process involved in getting a DF party, you just hit a button and queue. You don't know anyone else in it, and you aren't obligated to get to know them, and people want their stuff done as quickly as possible. The playerbase for MMOs in general is different, now...it's all very selfish and entitled. That goes for both sides of the fence, really.

Things like Duty Finder are incredibly convenient to players in general, but they're also horribly toxic to the community as a whole. Sometimes I wonder if that convenience is worth it.

I have plenty of fun partying with all sorts of people, and helping newer players out when I can. The other day I waited like a half hour in a group I joined because they were going to get their lowbie friend up to 16 and through Sats, and that patience payed off. I made some new friends and had a great time! A lot of people, I think, have this mentality that the game is getting tomes and gear, but that's not all the game is. An MMO is the players, and interacting with other players and helping them or facing challenges together is the concept at the heart of every MMO. Far too many people get tunnel vision and get wrapped up in the progression, and I think they lose sight of what really makes an MMO unique from any other kind of game.
This "game", in many ways is more of a chore than anything.

You get a weekly schedule of things to grind that aren't even fun.

If the game feels like a chore to you then why do you play it? I'm not telling you to leave by any means, so don't get me wrong, but personally when I don't like doing something and I'm not getting paid to do it then I find something that I do like to do and I do that instead.

Actually its not the people in your comparison, its the fact they have to take the same road every day and people driving slow or making mistakes just like in game annoys people and makes them impatient.

I force myself to cap soldiery over the course of the whole week to keep at least my main geared decently, in hopes that in the future the game will have some things I do like, that simple.

Some people can't take criticism even if it's constructive. I was doing a LLDF with my Monk and the tank would mark and then lose aggro on that marked target as well as everything else charging the healer. After we wiped, I asked him....

    Me: "Are you flashing.?"
Him: "Yeah, LOL, I had all the aggro.. that's why I died first."
Me: "No, you died because the healer died. Everything is running all over the place. Just flash a 3 or 4 times to start and it should be fine."
Him: "It's just a lowbie dungeon, who cares?"
Me: "I'm not mad, haha. I have both tanks I90 and was just giving advice."

    And then he dropped.

The game itself is more than just the grind though, don't you think? Its true that if this game was only grinding the same dungeons over and over again it would get very tedious (and in fact, sometimes it does), but what makes an MMO more than just the grind is the people. It's who you group with, and how you play with them that makes this more than just a grindfest. For example, if you're bored with the grind, why not try something silly like fighting Hard or Extreme Modes with snowman heads? Try runs with Titan-Egi tanking or just wander around the areas and be confident that nothing will so much as look at your level 50 the wrong way.

If you've cleared all the content, then help other players get to your level, and so on and so forth. The traditional idea of "Endgame" isn't the only way to enjoy having a high level character.
