Never got chance to ask they ragequit after noticing I was SMN, guessing they warned pure aoe class like BLM only, sad thing is I was gonna que on BLM but thought nah lolNever work? Why would they say that? Because it's not fast enough? That healer must roulette hop a lot..
OP I think this game breeds negativity. You can have the sweetest friend and level with them all the time, but the minute you both hit endgame you enter zombieland. Your friend gets bitten and becomes infected with rage/everything must be done quick virus. While you dodge the infection and proceed to give back to the community.
As a Warrior that sr smn and melee are fine with speedrunning it. Melee helps kill the last boss by using the Lb to skip super bomb. Melees are good to have in brayflox hardSMN seem to be getting alot of hate lately, was on mine last night helping an FC buddy in Brayflox, got in healer saw was SMN and a bard and said "FFS this will never work with a summoner" they then quit followed by the tank....
Some people have the patience of a two year old in game sometimes. I only get annoyed if the person should know better and just can't be bothered
On the other hand, some people are very nice. Went into HM hard last night to help a BRD friend get the kill he needed for his Atma book. I was SCH, and we also had our own WAR to tank. Up pops another BRD. We sigh to ourselves; no LB to deal with Amandine, meaning it could get hairy. New BRD says 'hi just to let know it's my first run.' So our WAR says 'that's fine, we'll take it slow so you can learn it. Thanks for telling us!' Nice smooth passage to first boss. Tank explains tactics (even tho he hates to type) bit of a scramble but we win. 2nd boss, so much moving, but we warn her that it's frantic and she copes really well, picks up adds, everything you could wish for. Tank explains that last boss is a DPS race, especially with the twin maid servants, and she does panic a bit then but we cheer her on and go for it. Everything goes beautifully to plan.
The point of my tale? We could have been dicks when she said she was new; I believe a lot of people are. She could have been a dick and not warned us, which would have probably meant at least one wipe (yes, Ash, I'm looking at you!) Thankfully, no one was a dick. I would have added her to FL as she played very well but different servers prevented that ...

I really don't understand it either. I've never felt the need to shout at someone or be a dick, and thats coming from a tank who's been tanking since beta and had to babysit tons of new/bad players. I've always either tried to help or just stick with it until they learn. Sometimes they don't ever learn, and thats when you politely leave. No need to be a dick even at that point. Just today, I took my friend into his first ever PvP match. A random guy on our team (who was already dead) started laying hinto him calling him names, saying how terrible and useless he was.. :/

Hence, I only run stuff with my FC now. DF is just horrible far too often now. Seems like half the time you get either a group with a player new to their class that gets lambasted by a high level player even though they're taking advice and doing their best, a low level player screwing up left and right and when you try to give them friendly advice they flip out on you, or one or two people that instantly drop because it's not the dungeon they wanted.
A recent example:
-DPS: (After being quiet the whole run, we WIPED in the last boss of AK) I'm sorry, I didn't do this dungeon in a while.
-Healer: Ask for advice, then.
-DPS: Shut up
People are really over-sensitive nowdays as well. You can't give any advice or anything because they'll get mad. I'm getting reaaaaally tired of people in DF, but well, I guess the extra gil awarded from roulettes is paid because the game knows I'll eventually find dicks or drama-queens. Some kind of compensation.
In every MMO I've played, the tank is the first to have blame placed on them in random groups, I know, I've always mained a tank.. Next is the healer, then the DPS that keeps dying or taking too much damage, and down the list it goes.
If people would be more open to the help given to them, and the people giving suggestion/help, a little more tactful in their presentation, dungeons would be a different place, but people too often jump straight to accusation and anger.
A conversation that should be;
Player A: So I see you are using Fast->Riot Blade, it would be more beneficial to use Fast Blade->Savage Blade->Rage of Halone, as well as throwing a Flash in from time to time, that way the healer won't pull aggro as often.
Player B: Oh, I'll give that a try.
Tends to be;
Player A: Hey, don't use Riot Blade and use Flash idiot!
Player B: Don't tell me how to play my class!
There's also:
Player A: Hey Tank, I'm noticing you're using Riot Blade more then Savage Blade. Would you mind switching so you don't lose agro?
Player B: Don't tell me how to do my job!
Even if you say things in the nicest way possible it could sometimes be interpreted as an attack on them
because to you this is your first time grouping with them, not the first time they have done the fight. imagine you had tried to do a fight 20+ times without success because people keep making the same mistakes. you would get frustrated too.
I got one better.
-Doing HM Ifrit as scholar for my 4th relic.
-Other healer is a whitemage, that casted regen on the tank right as Ifrit noticed him, but before he grabbed aggro.
-As soon as Ifrit charges at him, he panics and casts medica 2 in reponse with Ifrit breathing fire(though only the tank was hit by it). He keeps spamming cures btw.
-before the tank is finally able to rip hate off the WHM, two DDs get MPK'd thanks to this guy.
-I checked his player stats, saw that he's brand new, and offered him advice and I told him that he shouldn't regen before pulls.
-"F**k you, eat a D**k" is the response I get.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with others, even if it's not face to face.
