You can trade DL in for like 800seals a pop right now. It's worth it if only for that.
I use seals mostly for stockpiling ventures nowadays.

Those chests are always skipped when I run the expert dungeons. I really don't mind since my alt jobs are all wearing darklight jewelry and I can't roll on them anyway.

You guys shouldn't be afraid of the "secret" getting out. The ignorance is so prevalent, I don't see it ever changing. Even with a few people that look on this forum, and the even fewer that look this thread. ESP the speed runners. They would rather get it over with and hop back in then even lift a finger to see how much gil they can make. SE created a perfect situation with this gil making. Get it while its good I guess. lol. I was about to get a small house for my little FC. But with just a few of us grinding animus it wont be long before we could grab a medium lol.
Also after explaining it to some friends on one of my LS, I can tell that they still have no interest in it, and/or are to lazy to care about it. Spelling it out and black and white, it seems like most people don't care. So I'm happy. lol

So just so I'm understanding it correctly, the best way to make gil off of these runs would be to trade in the gear I don't need to my GC for seals, then use said seals to get high-demand items to sell on the Market Board? Not going to lie, I'm really wanting to learn the best ways to make money in the game so I can get my FC a house (we're currently at 600k). So I'll take any advice I can get, and if this is a good way to make some cash, I'm all for it!![]()

Yep, you can make good money turning DL gear in for seals. You can also spend seals on retainer ventures. Sometimes they bring back crazy stuff that sells for lots of $$$. Sometimes they bring you fish. It's a gamble, but it's fun.So just so I'm understanding it correctly, the best way to make gil off of these runs would be to trade in the gear I don't need to my GC for seals, then use said seals to get high-demand items to sell on the Market Board? I have noticed that! I'm so glad you mentioned the ventures! I was unaware you could get them via seals! I've always just used what I've gotten from my Kobold Daily Quests and I run out fairly quickly. Is the best way to use the ventures just to have the retainers run "Quick Exploration" over and over again and play the random reward game? I do find it enjoyable regardless.![]()

You get 5 ventures for 1000 seals. Not a bad deal, IMHO. I usually send mine out on Quick Ventures while I'm playing in the evening, then send them out on the field/woodland/etc exploration ventures (the 18 hour ones) when I go to bed at night. By the time I log in the next day, they have a surprise waiting for me! Lots of the random crazy stuff comes from the Quick Explorations (I've gotten 2 Ifrit weapons and a Garuda weapon already, to name a few), but from what I understand, the super rare stuff that you can only get from ventures comes from the high level 18-hour ventures. For these your retainer has to be level 50 (which means they have to be a class that you have at 50).
You can also sometimes get ventures from treasure maps. We were doing the Peisteskin maps one time, and ventures showed up in the loot - we all rolled on them and when they went into my friend's inventory, 22 ventures dropped! That's a ton!

Another great item to get from seals is Durability drought. It does a substantial reduction to how much your gear is damaged for 3 hours. Its really great for when your spamming dungeons and other daily tasks. The only issue is, it wears off if you die. But I'd say the money it saves from having to repair your gear is probably decent. I always use them when farming brayflox, when I do a couple runs with a group and know we can easily burn it with no death. Its all around very useful. I repair my own gear anyhow, but it further cuts down on what i gotta spend.
Also I haven't been able to test or pay attention to see if this durability drought stacks with the FC buff of the same effect.. if it did, that would be extremely nice.

Yeah even if you have no interest at all in ventures it'd be hard to say you have no interest in those.
