Generally it's a nice thing to give a tip. I will admit I don't ask for one but feel a little miffed if someone doesn't give a tip when I do a meld for them. I'd say 2k~5k is a nice amount really.

50k is ridiculous.

Offering a bit of a tip is a nice courtesy to thank them for thier time, and for being willing to interrupt whatever activities of their own they have at the time in order to come do a meld for you. But if you're providing all the materials, then anyone asking 50K is gouging. It doesn't take all that much of their time, after all.

I agree 50-100k is just plain gouging. For a minute's worth of time, I don't mind paying more in the range of 5-10k to someone who is standing around a city waiting for customers.

Offering a tip for a crafting services is usually understood between players. For people new to MMOs this might be lost upon them though. I don't ever ask for a tip for melds so I take whatever someone is willing to offer. I have other people that will offer me money to craft x amount of HQ levequest turn-ins but that's kind of a different situation since it requires a bit more of a time commitment.

As others said, for melds generally 5k is the standard for both melds for the relic weapon.

To be honest, it depends on the crafter. I normally allow the people to decide if they want to tip me or not other than that I never ask them to or even mention it but once again it completely depends on the crafter.

Some people charge per melds or some just won't charge at all. Most the time when I see melders offer to do melds themselves it'd be optional to pay them though.

Well... another thing that I am wondering is.... isn't Jenova one of the new servers that was made for ps4 launch? I don't remember if it's one of the servers we had from the start but that could be it too... the server needing time to stabilize the market and demands.

^ That. The most I received was 2x 5K (2 melds into the relic) - and I felt bad about it, since - yes- I spent lots getting all crafters classes to 50 - but it was MY OWN decision to do so, no one forced me.

If the person made it all the way to get their precursor (get NQ, you will lose it anyway ^^) the Materia that now since PS4 is here, new players - greedy people overprice them again.. and the carbonized matter.

If you got all of these, and that I am in town = come see me, it will be a pleasure to help, since I only click one button, twice.

*I double-check the item to make sure what's the intent for use - lots of people makes mistakes and meld the wrong ones for their relics.

tips over 5k are abusing, new market or not, imho.

@King, I think to us yeah.... it certainly is overpriced but I remember when people were paying like 30k or over for their relic on the market board to get one with the materia inside of it.

Sadly that's how it is on new servers, there are more than likely less lvl 50 crafters than we have on the other servers right now. So with that said... people are gonna charge what they feel their work is worth, if it's a new crafter and they looked on the market board then saw a weapon for like 50k with melds inside of it, they might try to sponge gil out of other players. >.<

It's sad but thats normally just stuff that people will have to look out for and be careful of till there are more crafters and the market/pricings stable themselves.

I'm still kinda new to the game, so i didn't really know a tip was something like 50k+ lmao :P
But i guess i need to make a blacksmith 50 someday so i can actually be there for other players. Such a cruel world xD

o-o; A tip is 1-2k gil...not 50k. Whoever is asking 50k for melds (especially when you have all of the mats) is dreaming lol!
