    As others have said, there is nothing that can be done, they could add code to detect the client being closed but that's about it. All you need to do to get round this is unplugging a LAN cable, switching WiFi off, disabling your network adapter or switching off your router/modem. All of these would look to SE like connection problems, therefore nothing can be done, without punishing legitimate players.

    Exactly as Delsus said. Unfortunately, while systems could be made to prevent abuse like this are great, people will always find ways to game the system. Even worse, it can make legit players' experiences worse.

    The sucky part is it's basically a win win for those who DC. They get kicked, they get what they want. They don't get kicked, they get their reward. So, how do you make something that punishes the offenders without affecting the innocent?
