Yet to see this mentioned, and can't find anything about it from searching. Though the only time I've done anything like this is when doing T2 farming, and the person who would typically be the 2nd tank gets to greed roll against the person who is currently tanking (which has been broken every time).

I never join groups where the leader reserves gear for themselves. I am sure there are a lot more people who don't say anything they just don't join your group. If you ever wonder why your group is filling up slow its probably because you reserve gear for yourself and a lot of people just won't join groups like that.

Right, you get full up slowly because you simply locking one gear but if it were to be need or greed party and you still won a loot on said item, it'd be same deal anyway.

Locking one gear is not big deal. Unless you need that specific gear then sorry. Don't cry a river and go find other group.

What a waste of time, looks like some people have too much time in their hands to be worried about creating a site to "blacklist" people that "item-lock" gear in the PF. As long you're using the PF and warn everyone in the description then what the hell is your problem? Geez that's a whole new level of... i don't even know what to say.

Yeap! I'm ok with this, and I do much the same. 9/10 times, I'll usually just run a G>N party, and like I said - claim the item for myself as the party lead so that I have it already. The benefit of G>N is usually that I can switch to whatever class is needed x3

Still, this kind of unnerves me a bit. It's b asically saying, 'you'll play the way I want you to - or else!', but I guess I kind of agree with the other posters. These probably aren't the kinds of people I want to work with.

Some just lock the jobs, but then they don't need to state that the item is locked, so people like the OP will take whatever jobs they can get, they just forbid anyone that joins their party to roll on the items they want.

I do a combination. Caster body locked / Lock out the job I'm on (I.E, I'm on BLM in this case, so I only allowed MNK/BRD/DRG to join.)

But in the interest of not being deceptive, I put that the caster body is locked in party finder. It's actually allowed a good number of players to send me a tell saying, "Hey, I'm only after X. Mind if I join?" and I'll always allow those ones in.
