Who's foolish enough to enter a party like that? I can understand if it's an FC run and the person asks in advance for the piece, but a bunch of randoms? That don't fly.

People that don't need that specific gear but need other gear.



Anyway, don't like the rules, don't join. If those runs are not popular, they wouldn't be able to get people to join. Not like that person is forcing you or tricking you. There are tons of other parties available. You can even make your own group if you don't like the rules others are making.

I also don't get why some people like to inform that they put someone on their blacklist. Just blacklist that person and get on with it! You don't need to inform anyone that you have blacklisted someone.

They happen all the time on Diabolos, quite successfully too, most people locking an item really only want that item, and won't roll on anythin else.

Makes me laugh, Party Finder was added to facilitate players making parties with their own requirements/desires. Whether thats skipping CS's requesting a minimum Ilvl or reserving an item. Whatever they want. Yet you still get people demanding that they should change their requirements to suit them. Instead of either ignoring it and looking for a party that fits their requirements, or making their own PF party.

Their party, their rules. Don't like? Don't join. ^_^

I ask the same question when people get all huffy and puffy about someone reserving gear in a MMO/video game/virtual reality.

Is there actually a loot category specifically for the Party Leader or whoever makes the Party in Party Finder, or is this "Gear Lock" thing you people are talking about something that has no support from the game mechanics behind it other than people agreeing to it outside of the Dungeon?

If it is the former, then there is no reason that someone should be getting added to some sort of black list hosted outside of the game because of this activity.

If it is the latter however then this type of behavior is clearly not supported by Square-Enix, and if all members of the party do not agree to it ahead of time, it should not be utilized.

You clearly didn't read the thread. Someone already pasted the GM response about loot rules agreed upon by the party outside of the standard need/greed system.

And yes, if the party does not agree to the rules, it won't be utilized, whoever doesn't agree will be replaced with someone who agrees. Not a big deal.
