Rhalgr Symbol

So I noticed this the other day while examining the Daystar robe.



This got me wondering as to why the symbol for Rhalgr would be attached to a healing robe.



The symbol itself, which is an exact match, is only found pinned to the upper left side of the chest. This means it was specifically put there for a reason, as it's not part of the general design of the rest of the robe. What's odd about it is that, as one of the Twelve, Rhalgr is probably the least likely to represent healing. He is the guardian deity of Ala Mhigo, and is represented as a mage casting meteor, so the caster robe or the MNK chest would be more fitting in my opinion. Hell, he is even called "the destroyer of worlds."

After seeing this little addition to the Daystar robe, I wonder what deeper connection there is. Perhaps even the Daystar robe "design" was originally intended for BLM/SMN and was switched last minute. What do you guys think?

Rowena, the maven of munitions at Revenant's Toll, espouses that proof of an item's authenticity can be found in Gerolt's signature─the mark of Rhalgr, breaker of worlds─and indeed, the master's fervor for the god of destruction in his early years is widely known. Those who would possess true power would do well to seek those artifacts that bear this mark.

Wouldn't be surprised to find this mark hidden on other soldiery gear sets.

not 100% sure, im not at home so i cant grab a SS right now, but on my MNK body im pretty sure theres a Jewel on the front end, around the belt if i remember correctly that has the same symbol, its purple with yellowed lines like the normal image.

Ah I'm glad you caught that. I was under the impression that he only designed the weapons, not the gear itself. Yes, looking at the models online (I'm at work so can't check them out in-game) there definitely seems to be similar (although not exact) symbols on some of the other gear.

The only one I couldn't find was on the Evenstar coat, which has an orb pendant pinned to it instead. I'm wondering if this is an oversight. Then again, if you look at those poor Miqo'te...that whole set seemed to be an oversight xD
