I don't think the Duty Roulette is working correctly

I selected a duty as a DPS/Smn that said Tanks were in need (when aren't they, sigh). When I checked the status the window showed all was already matched with a Tank & we were waiting a Healer & another DPS. I checked the Duty Roulette list again & it showed Tanks were still in need.

If Tanks were in need why was my duty waiting on other Jobs? I think the Roulette needs to refresh more often so it reports the Jobs more accurately.

Anyone else see this?

It updates the bonus at a specific time (unconfirmed but I want to say every hour). Basically, it will display what was in need at that point in time untill the next check occurs.


It makes things kind of funny because often times, the insta-pop will shift back and forth between tanks and healers depending on what is shown for the bonus.

If it says Tank - There is a good chance that Healers have the insta pop, and vice versa.

My wife noticed this a few times. As she normally play tank, But has a i80 WHM. Last night she queued as a tank and didn't get a party right away. Switched to healer and got in right away.

It updates every hour and I when I do daily roulettes as a healer try to focus on doing the stuff I am in need for for extra XP bonus. I know others thinks alike which leads to overload in the "needed" role.

It is in other words working as intended.

it searches based on who is available. if another group is only missing a tank and you are missing a healer and a dps, they will send that tank to the other group.

As mentioned in this thread already, there are cases where there is delay between the displayed role bonus for roles that are in demand and when the window actually pops for you to enter a dungeon. Even though the conditions for what roles are needed may change while you are waiting, you will still receive the role bonus that was displayed when you complete your duty.

I've had myself signed up as Tank when there was a Tank Bonus and by the end of the duty it had changed to a healer bonus and I didn't get as much. It's probably still there, but I don't feel like it's a 100% chance to get the bonus you signed up for at start.

I've had this happen before as well
See that there's a healer bonus - que as a healer, but now we need dps and tanks and I'm flipping my thumbs for 10 minutes.
Withdraw, que as a DPS, instant pop even though the bonus said healer!
