Turn 8 - Warrior DPS

How viable is this?

Assuming a 30 VIT Warrior, with full i90 DPS accessories, except for an i100 Ribbon of Slaying. Also, what is the recommended food for the above setup - HQ Buttons in a Blanket vs. HQ Black Truffle Risotto?

I know people run 5 DPS to push the second Phase so we don't get Ballistic Missiles + Dreadnought/Landmines at the same time. Just wondering if a Warrior with DPS gear and specs will be able to push enough DPS to achieve the same result.

Our WAR (30 STR, 3/2 or 4/1 ratio of STR/VIT i90 accs) is usually worth about 2/3rds to 4/5ths of an average DPS in this fight. As discussed in a topic just below (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ch-Accessories), i70 melded accs would actually be slightly more optimal for him. We're just cheap at the moment.

30 VIT for WARs is kind of unnecessary these days.

Yeah I'm waiting on a reply for that thread, on what the optimal melds would be It would be pretty pricey for me to meld gear which I may not even use.

How is your 30 STR WAR holding up in tanking T6 and T7? Those are pretty much the current contents at the moment where I am mostly main tanking. I believe I'd seen mention of your 30 STR WAR around these forums before, but last I checked he said it was easy enough to tank anything in the game in 30 STR bar Ifrit Extreme and Twintania. Of course, at this point this would likely have changed since we can now go beyond the i90 average.

He does 6, 7 (MT until first 3 adds are dead, OT for the remainder), 8 (OT), extremes, and T5 just fine.

Our War is FULL STR and we're on T9.Your War can go full str and go with dps accessories.But i think it would be better if he go as main tank and your PLD(assuming you have one)go with a dps class if he has one.The war dps more and he'll have ALL his CD for every dreadnaugh.
We did it with a PLD MT and and our war went with his DRG but it was still pretty tight.We were at 5-6 sec of the enrage xD

I play WAR in t8 as an OT with 30 STR and full DPS accessories. I am still able to OT just fine (blowing a few CDs for the dreads and the mines) and I average about 215-220 DPS. Assuming that the rest of your DPS averages around 330 DPS and your PLD pulls around 100, i think it is viable.

I also used Stuffed Cabbage because I needed the accuracy/it was the only food I had lol. I'm sure buttons would be fine

I do however only put STR accessories on in T8. I have tanking accessories for T6-9. I may experiment with STR accessories in T9 next week.

I ddid 260 DPS in t8 last week with 479str.

Just got the high allagan axe last week and will test a 527 str warrior in t8 this weekend. I have 8.1k HP in defiance with 527 str. Eating risottos.

This week's DPS in turn 8 - 293.
