Let them carry on. If SE deem it cheating, then they'll suffer the consequence. If not its not hurting anybody else. They just found an alternate way to get to the same end goal.

I don't do this but if they made a rule against win-trading, that would simply make their PvP even less populated. Do you really want to slap more rules onto an already dead part of the game?
Just have to love all the justification going on in this thread supporting Win Trading. Any other MMO with PvP in it has policies in place that state Win Trading is against the rules and punishable.
What people in this thread are saying is "The PvP in FFXIV sucks anyways so whos it hurting if we cheat?" or "We're just practicing against "friends". Guess what. Win Trading isn't actually earning shit on your own.
I like to think of Win Traders as the same kind of people that will sit there and play a single player game with Infinite Health and Max Damage cheats on and then feel like they did something when they finally beat the game lol
Wintrade fights reduce the number of people that are actually playing PvP, as all the players are just "fighting" each other endlessly. No one will see a lower queue time b/c 8 people engage in wintrading, in fact, assuming that at least some of these 8 people actually want the gear or the achievement (or enjoy it), there would be more players queueing if there were no wintrade fights.
So yes, please, rule this illegal. It can only benefit the actual player base.

If it was made illegal some people wouldn't bother trying to grind out gear/skills the slower way and simply wont PvP.Wintrade fights reduce the number of people that are actually playing PvP, as all the players are just "fighting" each other endlessly. So yes, please, rule this illegal. It can only benefit the actual player base.. You do realize that when the people who win-trade get bored/reach their goal for the day, most of them do normal PvP.
So it could, in fact, lower the amount of people PvPing... which is currently a very small pool of people.

Maybe I'm giving people too much credit, but if they do normal PvP when they're bored of win trading, why would they stop doing normal PvP if they can't win trade? They're not really going to throw a tantrum and never PvP again because they can't cheese their way to the top, are they?
the thing is, those 8 people wouldn't PVP at all if they werent doing it with their friends, so banning win trades wouldnt help. people just wouldnt pvp.Wintrade fights reduce the number of people that are actually playing PvP, as all the players are just "fighting" each other endlessly. or for instance, say they just want the gear for vanity, once they get that gear they will stop pvp'ing. so it still wouldnt help the system to force them into legit pvp.
How would it make it less populated? People win trading generally aren't playing with the rest of us, they're in their own little kiddies pool. Remove them from PvP and it wont really make a difference to those of us who actually PvP the proper, incredibly pathetic and broken, way.
I don't particularly mind win traders, but I do find it very sad that, in comparison, people who actually PvP are effectively being punished for doing so. Should they directly do something about win trading? I don't care. What they should do is do something about the incredibly broken rewards system already in place. That's the real issue, win trading is just a symptom. Change matches to a best of 3 or 5, with a win chain boosting rewards if you keep winning. Take the PvP Challenge Log, put it in the PvP profile instead, and expand it greatly, while also throwing Wolf Marks into the rewards. Win 3 matches and play 10 is pathetic, where's "Deal X damage total", "Heal X damage total", "Kill <Job>", "<status effect> enemy X times", "Reach X Morale", "Win X times in a solo queue", and other things that would actually make PvPing slightly more interesting and rewarding?
i think it would make matters worse, as they would just farm pvp afk to get vanity
now whats worse for pvpers ? having to put up with ppl afking in pvp or letting them win trade in their own world ?
