PLD Atma farm question.

Hello,
Was trying to farm the remainder of my Atma when a question came to mind. I'm trying to figure out if it's my awesomely bad luck with drop rate or if I need to have my Holy Shield Zenith(ed) also. Did have my Curtana Zenith equipped. My previous Atma drops were with one handed jobs.

I just had the sword equipped in order to get Atma drops. Was getting one every hour (better than most.) Though Western la Noscea took almost 15 hours.

This quest is fully RNG dependant. I have a FC member that was farming 1 atma for 3 days and he got like 10 of them in 1 day after that. Depends solely on your luck. Also, as Clive said, with the Curtana equipped, it's more than enough.

I might be confused about what you're asking, but you DO have to have your shield upgraded. You do not, however, have to have it equipped. I don't believe you can even start the "quest" that allows you to get Atma as a Paladin without both components upgraded.

Q: Being a Paladin, do I need to equip both the Zenith Sword and Shield to obtain Atma?

A: No, you only need the Zenith Sword to be equipped in order for Atma to drop. While you can collect all the Atma without the Upgraded Shield, it should be noted that you will not be able to fully complete the quest unless you also have your Zenith Shield (does not need to be equipped just in your inventory/armory bags). So if you skipped out on upgrading the Shield earlier due to a better upgrade, now would be the time to upgrade it.

That is basically what I was asking. I started the quest as bard and switch back and forth to scholar when farming. Recently started farming as paladin. No luck with the RNG.

Wanted to make sure it was rng and not that I needed both Zenith.
