    I've seen up to the 39th or 40th cut-scene in the Ul'dah storyline. There's only one other cut-scene that "features" chocobos to any degree. They're not being ridden around the city. In fact, they're not being ridden at all. They're "parked" at the chocobo stable.

    Back up your claim please. Link me to a video showing normal Ul'dah citizens/NPCs riding freely around the city streets on untethered chocobos. And not just 2 or 3 in an isolated example, but dozens... enough to at least approach what we could expect to see in-game should SE make the mistake of allowing them in cities.

    Even if there is such a scene, it would be a far cry from seeing a few individual NPCs in a cutscene riding around, and seeing dozens of players milling around and cluttering up the place, blocking stairways, pathways, NPCs, doors, etc... something that *does* happen in games where mounts are allowed in towns.

    If it was something that's considered "commonplace" and part of the city atmosphere, don't you think there'd be NPCs riding them around town all the time? Mounted up? Heck, even leading them around, perhaps carrying goods to a market stand? You don't. You see them only at chocobo stables or otherwise outside the city.

    There is nothing backing up wanting chocobos in cities as being beneficial, nevermind ideal, other than that you want it that way.

    Jumping is at least something that provides some useful purpose, such as being able to better navigate over certain terrain, or canceling spells, etc. There is absolutely no benefit to being able to ride or stand around inside a city on a chocobo.

    I'd wager you don't see it for the same reason you don't see the horses talked about in a few La Noscea leves, or the homesteads and farmlands that NPCs talk about, or the crashed/blown up ferry that an NPC at an aetheryte goes on about, or any of the many other things that NPCs TALK about, but aren't actually implemented in the game: Because Square-Enix is still trying to catch up with their vision.

    The comment I originally responded to was someone saying that we'd have to have cutscenes of chocobos in cities in order to state that there's lore to back up the idea. There is a cutscene in the Platinum Mirage where right outside the building, you see chocobos and chocobo-drawn carriages rolling past. You also see a much more crowded city street, filled with people and vendors. What we see in these cutscenes is what the cities would look like, if the designers had their way. The cutscenes also directly answer the commenter who was talking about cutscenes = proof of lore. If you are not that commenter, I don't know what you are getting worked up about.

    Now, you are getting far, far too angry at someone you don't even know about something you obviously don't know much about, so calm down. <_< We're discussing giant chickens here. Giant. Chickens. Obviously if the (no less than) 3 videos of chocobos in cities aren't enough to convince you that they are there, then nothing will, in which case, I'm not sure why you're even bothering to type any words at anyone at all.

    Addressing your last paragraph first, I'm not getting angry. I'm simply challenging you on something you're stating, and asking you to back it up. Please keep your psycho-analysis out of this, and stick to the discussion at hand, okay? Thank you.

    Second, your statement about videos not being enough to convince me they're there is completely dishonest. A pure strawman argument. I never said "there are no chocobos in Ul'dah". If anything I've confirmed their existence by acknowledging that they're there pulling parade floats or a transport wagon. What I *did* say is that there are no un-tethered chocobos being freely ridden around Ul'dah, as mounts, by its citizens. If you're going to debate me on something, please be honest and respond to statements I do make. Don't ignore what I have said and conveniently replace it with things I haven't. Thank you.

    Now, for your first paragraph, you can "wager" all you want. Your statements are based on what you *think* *might* be the case *in the future*. It's unsupported conjecture based on something you would *like* to see happen, nothing more.

    And you so smugly accused me of jumping the gun? Pot, meet kettle.

    You are basing your entire premise on 2 or maybe 3 isolated cut-scenes that *still* don't support what you're claiming they do. I'm basing mine on what those same cut-scenes actually *do* show, as well as the state of the game we are playing, right now. Might it change down the road? Sure. It could. Regardless, you cannot build an argument on something that's completely unsupported right now, because you think it "might happen" down the road.

    For your second paragraph, you see Chocobos and Chocobo-drawn carriages strolling past. So, in other words, once again, the chocobos were tethered and behaving as beasts of burden, not common mounts. You have not seen cut-scenes of numerous normal city citizens going about their daily routines, freely riding or standing around on untethered chocobos. In other words, my point still stands.

    I have no problem with more lively city streets with more vendors or NPCs. I'd welcome a bit more of that as well, in fact. NPCs and such have coded behavior and tend to either move on a pre-set track, or stand in one spot. They're not cluttering doorways, stairways, narrow paths, etc. on giant birds.

    I'm now going to duck out of this particular exchange because my point has been made and there's no need to rehash it further.

    OMG you're so right, you win everything, ever, in the history of anything to do with chocobos! Vae victus! Three cutscenes are not enough! Obviously, the only way this whole thing could be ever disputed is if chocobos existed IRL, for us to ride upon, in our grand city of--oh wait, I really don't care about your self-inflated ego lol

    Back on topic? Chocobos in cities, yes please! Also, more reading literacy in our schools. We seem to desperately need it. <_<;
