There's a difference between being practical and being entirely dismissive.
Also, what's so wrong with chocobos in town. Omg. You guys act like they're the plague.
You are making presumptions. Ive not even stated an opinion about it yet.
I'd just like to know, from a practical standpoint. What do you need a chocobo in town for?
(cus as far as i know, they're being implemented as a practical mode of transportation vs teleing, after patch 1.19* they'll expand on them.)
*edit. heh. almost forgot we have to wait another month or so.

Well wouldn't it take more effort to forbid them from going into town because then the programmers have to implement a protocol for that? In which case from a practical standpoint the issue becomes "why can't chocobos go into town?"You are making presumptions. Ive not even stated an opinion about it yet.

oooo, i tooootally forgot to think about this!
yes! i dont see why not. there is no zone line between the city and open world and the cities themselves are quite large to be walking back and forth.
+1 to riding Chobos in town!
the only real reason to me is because cities are quite large and tend to require people to walk around constantly. it would essentially make travel time a bit quicker when all you want to do is get from points A,B, and Y (all the way over there) and then back to A again.I'd just like to know, from a practical standpoint. to me its a more why not?

15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
I don't see this happening. Imagine people storming the Ul'dah Adventurers' Guild on Chocos >_> or going up the stairs once the airship ports get open and what not. Just unnecessary clutter, imo. Then there's lag issues, Chocobo butts in my face at market ward entrance etc. It just reads chaos to me. And people can't be that lazy to walk in the cities.... can they? o_O???
The Chocobo stables inside the cities might as well serve for personal mounts once we get them, to access the stables via them, check Choco progress etc. or if those are ment for rental perhaps you'll just appear outside city limits once you rent one. Or they'll move those NPCs (stables) somewhere closer to city entrances, or give us new NPCs.... Just don't see mounts functioning well within city limits.
nono, you didnt answer the question. You presupposed it to fit your own means.
I'll simplify it and ask for basic responces i guess.
In what manor would chocobos help or hinder the imerssion within cities? Do you see the need for a town full of afk chocobo'ers. Vs the current style - people not on mounts? What are the implications for many chocobos in tight spaces? (Any Adv. guild for example).
Besides running around faster. I don't see SE biting on this one.

1 or 2 Chocobos every 5 minutes on my screen = +to immersion, but that's not ever going to happen. The second scenario seems more likely, AFKers on Chocos, Chocos everywhere, Chocos obstructing view @ Wards, while vending to NPCs, popping out around every corner.... A definite no to that.
My life too would be made easier if I were to ride one within the city, but I have no problem using my own feet either, and I'd rather walk/run than be 'Waaark!'ed at everywhere o_o
(riding them in cities + mounted combat = hey, no need to dismout = clean feet forever)
I think they will be rideable in town. First off, the town and area outside the town are not seperated in 2 different zones like in ffxi. Second, the stables are in the center of the city.
Lastly unles ffxi, where you had a stable building with a path leading outside or a tunnel if you thinking norg. there isn't anything like that. Since we had a mini cs when we rode out on the choco.
I really have no issue seeing chocobo riding in the city. I think it is a cute concept. I liked riding my Mount in WoW with in the city. It made them feel like cities.![]()
30mill gill says SE have already hammered out a design and like it or not, we'll all have to deal with it. (untill they update it...)
