They make their own statues, being afk during hours in Mor Dhona while showing off their new weapons/armor.

It's not that kind of raiding game. You could argue it's not a true raiding game. The developers made the right choice by not making it the kind of hard core game people were expecting. The audience for these types of games is very small since there are games (or game) that caters for this market. The hardcore mentality, and elitist attitude that usually comes with it, should not be encouraged or rewarded.

Even TERA of all games had unique titles for server firsts. Poster above is right, people ITT sound really vindictive. It's probably unhealthy to get this wound up over the progression competition, everyone is just having a bit of fun. It's not that kind of raiding game. You could argue it's not a true raiding game. ITT: lots of jealous people.
I don't know, being world first doesn't tell you much though. It just means you had a lot of time and you had a competent group of people.
Mmm I don't buy it. There are different kinds of achievements and this one is too game time dependent to get a reward as such. I would agree with an organized pvp or pve tourny that resulted in that reward. Also, whens the last game that made statues for every world first on new release content :/?

There is no achievement in this game that compares to beating T9, let alone beating it first. All worthwhile rewards are going to be game time dependent to some degree unless you want them given out to just about everyone (which invalidates the point of it).Mmm I don't buy it. Organised PvP tournament I can agree with, and organised PvE in a vein similar to challenging groups to beat the Titan fight at one of the events last year.
I don't know any game which does this, but I think it's a great idea. Great achievements should be rewarded - that is the very nature of competition and games as a whole.

why ?
If the game was finished and if new releases of content would never happen again, why not ? But in MMOs, there will be new content forever (ideally), and older content will be nerfed to the ground.
As someone said, what is T5 or even T9 exactly ? In 2 years, the overgearing will be so high that you'll be able to stomp it without even knowing a single mechanic.
And if you look at it, world first in T9 (BG) already got a fame reward, aka a word from the producer..
