My plate-mail BLM looks on and laughs.
As does my plate and chain BRD
Player

I agree, as a BLM end game gear has always been the best looking anyway :P Esp now. No need to glamour with armour like that. :P
But I understand that some classes (Male BRDs, Paladins who are tired of wearing tiaras and monks who had to live with speedos) might want a change :/
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.

There is no benefit for legacy players.
Only for the ones who saved up dated gears (can also be someone who played only the first 5 months of 1.0)

I can *kinda* understand this as there was a wicked RDM vanity that I saw recently that I really wanted to do on my PLD (for the sword and shield, making it a true RDM), but found out that almost all of it was caster or class specific. ;n;

One downside for dated gear is that you can't dye them, can you?
I remember holding onto some dated gear but couldn't dye them so I dumped those.
Same reason WoW did this with Transmogrify. Which is STUPID when it is supposed to be for FUN, is they don't want Tank's wearing robes in PVP making people without eyeballs think they are the WHM while the WHM wears DRG Gear and is confusing people.
Everquest 2 let you wear about anything for your Alternate gear set, was fun as heck to open world pvp looking like a robe wearing magic user and OOPS you're a Monk and whip their butt. Oh well ;-;

Correct. Which is kind of annoying because I had the foresight to make Moccasins because after 1.0 I never wanted to wear ugly mage shoes and now I gotta deal with matching gear to them lol
