So for the first time ever, we resorted to win trading. To get the point through to new members that hey, you showed up and tried this, you did as we asked even when we asked you to play less effectively, and the teams were decided by math, so thank for taking that beating, here is the same amount of exp we got from legit fighting you. We thank you for your time and enabling us to do instance que friendlies all night.

All in all, both groups got about 1300 exp in about 2 hours. 1/4th of what I needed for my current rank in 2 hours.

During those two hours, we trained 4 people in the finer points of PvP. Offered a rank 31 insta ques. And had our 4 best DPS going at it. All while having a ton of fun with our server-mates.

    Pros of friendlies:
    General:
It takes the time out of quing for a match, all match ups are instant.
It mixes players who would normally never play together, expanding our linkshells range in many aspects.
It improves linkshell morale, conversation, and excitement for future PvP updates.
It makes rank 40 and 50 less of a grind, and more functional for teaching others.
It is our primary tool for getting two of our best teams used to each others play styles for frontlines.
It serves as a labortory for our theory crafters. I.E. we are testinv effects morale has concerniing damage reduction, to help us choose between 110/115 weapons, versus 100 PvP weapons.

    Low rank benefits:
It is a stress free enviornment to get those who tried PvP once and were turned off by it before they cpuld understand it.
You can adjust the rules to tailor it to get them pug ready.
It serves as a great social tool for them to get to know the existing duos, trios and groups.
It serves as a great social tool for them to form their own group, or join a duo/trio.
Being able to request the other team employs or avoid certain tactics is a great "trial by fire" tool.
It is a great place to humble abrasive personalities in your linkshell, fhe ones that you thpught about kicking once or twice. It also serves as an outlet for those who had to suffer those types.

    Higher ranked players:
    It provides insta ques.
It helps them find like mindex teammates.
It forces them out of their preset groups, allowing them to learn and adapt to new tendicies, whi h in turn, could teach them something new to bring back to their static group.

    Cons:
Our linkshell has 125 members, we have to make a second linkshell due to our message and stance on PvP attracting 4-5 new members a day, small groups and linkshells may not be able to use friendlies as a tool.
it attracts the wrong type of person, i.e. win traders, those who clearly just want theirs and don't want to help others.
It takes roughly 10-20 mins to even get it going, impatient players, have a hard time witb this

The community can add more cons, we can debate them later

OK that part of it is done...damn 1000 character limits are intense.

Now, let us know what you think about what team siren has been doing And remember, keep it friendly! Or don't, flame us hard. I love forums battles as much as I love PvP, even this games abrasive, bare bones PvP.

Hey Kantei, to make a post without the 1000 char limit, first make an initial post, then go into edit mode, while in edit mode you will not have the 1000 char limit.

DIDDO on everything you said. Just so everyone knows our goal here isn't to win trade, ( and it shouldn't be yours either) it's to inject some life in to whats become a stale, frustrating, slow queueing aspect of the game. When we do our 4v4s we all go hard and try to win, all the while trying to balance gear and skills with the new people in our shell so that they can also enjoy pvp.

thanks for the editing trick, should help in the future.

So no one feels anything about this so far? One of the other cons I can see involved with this is it slows down the ques for the community, but as far as that goes....gotta worry about our people first.

I like the idea. I think if you have that many people interested you should make a FC instead of a linkshell. Although it may be harder to get people to join it. But having crafters make new gear for new pvpers and having the company buffs would be a bonus. Also already having a pvp focused FC before frontlines hits would put your guys out front while others play catch up. I'd love to have one on my server but there isn't much interest in pvp there.

A free company, at some point, could be an option down the lines, after front lines really.

Free companies have a max of 200 though? Would currently only allow for us to recruit 75 more members. Making a second link shell would allow for 128 more members currently.

If your servers involvement is low in PvP, I suggest making a PvP shell, or joining an existing one. Party finder fills up very quickly BTW if you are lacking members that night, also a good recruitment tool.

I can't use party finder until we figure out the second shell though lol.
