Cool Please read and dont hate

So is the game worth it? I know about the fee 15 dollar a month I know that. I am just wondering if someone could tell me exactly how this game is played and how you interact with other? If I buy it then it will be for PS4 so I dont know. I just want to know as much as I can before I give me money to Square Enix. Does the game feel very deep in like doing quest together and hanging out with others very cool stuff? Or is like it doesnt matter or is it bad on this game? The thing is that is very very important for that I play with others because if not then the game wont be good for me.

Well there's the one month free trial period so try that and slso watch some vids to see the gameplay if you haven't already.
Also the activeness at certain times depends on the server's region usually
    (I.e NA, EU, JP )
Also most ppl will be at endgame but there will still be a handful of ppl who are new too and will be running around the low areas.
Playing with other ppl (i.e potential future friends ) can be a bit tricky at some points. So just try and find an fc that takes in all players and isn't a mass fc.

With the PS4 release, a lot of new players will join. And now with Challenge logs, pretty much everyone can get to end game between 2-4 months depending on play time. The majority of people playing love the game (that's why they are still playing) even if the forums fill with rage quit/com ain't threads. And even then, they complain because of certain content, not because the game itself is no good. Additional content will be rolling in as it has been, and I see FFXIV being still fun years from now. Try the month free (still have to pay for the game though) and definitely jump on YouTube and watch some videos.

I play on the ps4 server, and I think it's well worth it. I know with gamestop (idk if its still going on) but if you buy an air time card w/ them you get a 15 dollar gc back. may ask about it. if you are familiar with runescape and wow then you kind get the jist of it. however in my opinion it's so much more fun. with RS you had to pay like 7 bucks per character. with wow you paid 14 and you got 15 characters on each server, but the character was limited to just that one role. with FF you can make one character do every single job and still retain all the xp from the previous ones. it's worth it. and the fates are worth it. I think the ps3 copy is cheaper then the ps4, and I'm not sure if it's still doing it but you could tx the ps3 info to the ps4 for free. you may look into it. I got the game and i was iffy as well, but have been seriously impressed since then.

Just a correction, there is no such thing as a PS4 server. All the servers are open to everyone. I started a character on the new server Jenova but play on the PC.

Ps3, PS4 and PC players play together, they do not seperate them.

If it's important to you that you interact with other players, then I don't think you'll be disappointed. I play on Gilgamesh, and whenever I shout for help there is always a helpful reply. Also, people are constantly looking for new members for their Free Companies, so it shouldn't be hard for you to find a group of people to chat with (and some even roleplay). If you go around doing fates and generally interacting with other players, you'll make friends in no time.

If you don't care much for progression then Linkshells are also a good way to chat with ppl.

There is no PS4 server. The game is cross platform. All servers are shared by all platforms.

Free Company: Called FC for short, these are lasting groups of players who game and socialize together. If you're familiar with other MMOs, these are known as "guilds" in several other games.
Linkshell: A private chat channel you can join with other players. These lack many of the features of a Free Company, providing only (text) chat, but have the advantage that you can join several of them, while you can only be in one FC.

When you first start the game, there won't be much interaction with other players right at first unless you join a Free Company or Linkshell. The first several levels worth of content are designed for teaching everyone how the game works and introducing you to the world it's set in, and that part is primarily solo content.

At level 10 you get the first sort of group content, which are short (and optional) mini-dungeons called Guildhests, designed more for teaching you how to work with a group rather than providing a real challenge. (And they're generally too short to provide much in the way of social interaction either.) It's at level 15 that the first real dungeons are unlocked, and the game becomes significantly more social after that, as you'll need to complete group content to follow the storyline. You either get together with people you know from your FC or linkshell to complete them, or else you meet other players through a tool called "Duty Finder" that puts together players needing that content.

I only wish it would be the same thing on Jenova server :/
Unless your trying to do lvl 50 raid and hm/extreme dungeon, no one is ever answering stuff. Now all i need is a blacksmith who can meld materia for me without charging 50-100k... even tho i have all the required material *sigh*
