    I can play just fine, but my bf – whose computer is right next to mine, we're literally sitting back to back – keeps getting error 90k when logging in. When trying again, he gets 2002.

    We're obviously using the same router, internet connection, provider etc etc. It makes no sense whatsoever. He hasn't been able to get in the game for a whole day now — yesterday, the day before that... he could get in after multiple tries & reboots. Today? No.

    Im suffering terribly from as of the last 3 days. Originally thought it was an ISP issue, but after having literally everything replaced from a new line drop, modem, and a new $250 router the problem is still as frequent as ever. glad to see that its not my hardware at least.

    This is bullshit, I buy the pre0order and now I can't even play, its less then five minutes before i get a 90k error, and then 2k errors upon trying to reconnect on that character.

    Square, Either Fix this or lose a customer.

    Is there no hope?

    I'm about to give up here.I tried to solve this (90002 error every hour) problem with my ISP since I bought this a few months ago and nothing has changed.

    No other games including MMO's give me any problems or disconnection problems.All I get is Square Enix blaming my ISP and my ISP blaming Square Enix,all the while players that ironically do not have problems tell me that it's my ISP's fault.

    Either my ISP is lying to me and won't solve the problem or SE's servers are actually to blame here.

    Now I know there will always be a few forum players that will post some extremely long "explanations" on how it's always the players ISP's fault,I refuse to believe that it's always the case.

    Why doesn't Square answer any of these threads? If they really thought the problem is not on their end they could just say so,but they wont. But the problem also is they won't tell us what is being done about it either,IF they are doing anything at all. (and no,the regular maint patches don't count)

    Don't get me wrong,I'm sure those that post saying all this do know their stuff,but it makes me wonder how some who seem to know so much and tell you to be open to the idea that the problem could be on your end,refuse to accept any possibility at all that the problem could actually be on Square Enix's end in some cases.

    My point is,if the problem can be on the players end then it could also be on SE's end as not all cases are the same.

    All this talk of congestion and traffic along the USA routes is something I don't buy for this problem when no other game gives me any problems and that goes the same for a lot of others suffering from these errors too.

    It is a known problem with the internet. It is specific to certain areas and certain carriers and/or the exchange points to other carriers. You don't usually use your last mile ISP's network exclusively to get to any given service on the internet...that just isn't how it typically works. If the content you want is hosted on someone else's network there will be at least two ISP's involved--if the networks are in disparate enough areas there will be 3 or more ISP's involved.

    And therein lies the problem. The people you are more likely to deal with initially when you call your provider will usually be looking only at your localized segments---say in/around South Carolina but not Virginia, NY/NJ, Chicago, Toronto, etc. along the entire path you take specifically to get to a particular server (an important side note: Blizzard West Coast from Arizona is NOT likely to be contact severs in both Japan and Montreal like this game does, so you can't compare this connection to that one). They also are not likely to be looking at the exchange to their third-party routing partner, something that is set up and maintained by a higher tiered team than the helpdesk guys. That is why you need to be pushing for a higher tier of support (tier3).

    So your ISP isn't necessarily "lying" but you aren't getting the whole truth. There are countless cases of these issues occurring across multiple users in multiple regions for multiple web services spanning decades that have identified these very issues in route to servers that got things cleared up through their ISP's assistance. It is a known issue to check for that needs to be ruled out and if found resolved because no matter how stable and robust a server may be, an unstable route will cause problems. Period. It isn't hypothetical. It is essentially "Networking 101".

    As for SE commenting on the matter...there really isn't anything more to say then they already have and do with the maintenance announcements. They have announced planned and completed infrastructure changes. They have announced issues,maintenance, recovery of third party partners they have agreements with for running the services (Sony and Ormuco). Anything outside of that is fourth party to them and as such they have no actionable agreements--our ISP's however have such agreements in place. SE has a thread for gathering information to contact those ISP's, but unless they can enter into a peering agreement there isn't much else they can do if that ISP chooses to not take action. That is where we come into play--we pay for their service and as such have more influence. But some may have to be more persistent in demanding they take action...mileage will vary, but they can be pushed into taking action in more cases than not.

    Bye bye! You can leave. People who leave the game because of one bug before release and doesn't give it some time, is bad for the community anyways. Please give it some time its a new expansion.

    I like how people think every run expansion or new game, they should run perfectly off release or pre release. Bugs are going to happen. Just have to report without getting your panties in WOD. I say if it happening by 24th in the morning, then its worth complaining more than just report.

    The thing is, Square Enix should have anticipated more players starting/returning and should have allocated more servers to alleviate the congestion that was inevitable. They should have also been able to predict that having Balmung and Gilgamesh on one data center was/is a terrible idea, given the population densities. As someone who doesn't have much time to play, there is no excuse for:

    1) No support all weekend during the pre-release, even as someone who wasn't ready to go into the expansion area. IT should be on deck to solve issues as they arise for at least 48 hours until they know everything is stable.
    2) Disregard that there is even an issue (see quote below). The issue wasn't unexpected, so why was there no work done to prevent it?
    3) 40+ attempts to login to a game I pay for monthly, with an expansion I had just purchased last week, to actually take advantage of the services I paid for. This applies twice, since both my wife and I play together.
