Well the reason why said Engineer and not Machinist was because i didn't want to elude that i was talking about a Combat Class Machinist like you would find from Tactics or XII. Rather a strict crafting class that focuses on making weapons/armor for specific combat classes. IE Puppet-Master or Machinist, in making crafted Automations.

I suppose Chemist would be best suited as a Combat Class, as it was in Tactics as the basis for all Magic classes + Gunsmithing can be the crafting equivalent.

I could take a shot in the dark it would be like this.

Chemist 30 + Marauder 25 = Dark Knight?
Musketeer 30 + Chemist 25 = Red/Gun Mage?
Thief 30 + Archer 25 = Ninja?
Machinist 30 + Thaumaturge 25 = Puppet-Master?
Lancer 30 + Gladiator 25 = Samurai?
