[dev 1083?] Mounts

As far as animal variations got, just Chocobos please. Well, maaaybe one other FF beast and/or a mechanical thingy. Never liked seeing too many different and often absurd (flying ferret wth?) mounts on my screen. Even though this isn't real life and all that, having too many different looking mounts usually ruins the little immersion that I achieve, and when they (players) ride them in big groups they look like something out of Katamari games Instead, I'd like to see more ways to personalize our Chocos :3

I'm all for variety, but making it work within the realm of believability as also important. Having a variety of breeds of chocobo for example built for endurance, jobs types, etc would be really cool. Ones with a very distinct design, and armour.

As for other forms of vehicles, attaching a chocobo or two to a carriage to 'taxi' people about would kind of be fun when I think about it. It'd definitely be new, and has already been seen in one or two cutscenes.

Why is there so much support for riding Dodos? Has anyone fought these things for extended periods of time? They ooze nastiness and gas from every orifice on their filthy little bodies - ride one? I wouldn't touch one that hadn't been grilled to a charbroiled crisp.

I like the idea of other mounts beside chocobos, I just hope they add something besides rideable mobs. It seems weird to have a mount that is the same species as the things you slaughter while adventuring. I hope they get creative with it, magitek would be cool, flying dragons would be awesome. Anyone know if flying mounts would be possible with the kind of maps we have in this game? I really haven't spent much time in MMO's outside of ffxi and ffxiv so I don't really know how flying mounts usually work.

I support mounts aside from chocobos but I'm fine with whatever the dev team does (which happens to be pointing towards mounts aside from chocobos in addition to chocobos).
