Tradition had to have been change at one point. Why can't traditional mounts coexist with new ones? Why restrict that potential?

Mounts of different colors!? I would never dream FF would do something like that to choco-
...Oh wait...
Seriously, if it were all about tradition, then we'd be playing Final Fantasy I over and over. Hell, chocobos would have never existed in the first place. Neither would Dragoons and everything else people love about the series.
On a related note, you know who else is all about tradition?
Jihadist Muslims.
I quite liked FFXIII's hoverbikes, and they're from the series so....
All kidding aside, I'd prefer we get unique mounts from customisation and personalisation of chocobos (different colours, armour, decoration, linkshell/company flags) rather than a bunch of different creatures.
I think magitek would look pretty weird outside of very select situations, too.
I lol'd at the tenuous link, bet you've got all of the good ol' USA hatin' on Cairdeas now.On a related note, you know who else is all about tradition?

We had a pretty large discussion about non-chocobo mounts here:

Actually, They are more progressive then most americans, They for example, publically accept gender dysphoria as a psychological disorder and actually pay for gender transition therapy for people afflicted by it.
Americans still bawk at the idea that someone could be born "in the wrong body."
You had no control over that device,I quite liked FFXIII's hoverbikes, and they're from the series so....
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Getting off topic here though. Tradition is all well and good but innovation and change can also be good. FF is a constantly changing series and it should continue doing so.
Dragons and dragoons make everything better, we need dragon mounts for sure.
It'd be cool to be able to earn gear/upgrades for your mount. It would be a time sink and enable players to stand out.
And how about some kind of mount that could transport an entire party? An airship?!
