Make FFXIV Merchandise Available Outside Japan

Do they not ship overseas? That's some serious bull poo if they don't.

He states that he doesn't want items that are region specific, and that not having those available to all regions can turn people off of the game. So then... why can't we purchase the items?

That was a direct question being asked about the Dalamud minion, and he says:

We’re playing on the same servers and playing the same game, but these certain people get advantages and we don’t? That can turn people off and we don’t want to do that.

So I think the quote you're using has more to do with in-game items, not merchandise specifically. He doesn't want people to have things in game that people in other regions can't get, (because he considers all servers equal since they are a mix of all regions) so we aren't standing there going why does X person get Y in-game item and they are on my server, but I can't get that?!

But I will say, even though I believe that was said specific towards in-game items, I do wish they would have more items for sale here as they do in Japan. If people are willing to pay the cost and shipping, why not?

If I was wrong then so be it- but it doesn't take away from the fact that there are millions of people playing this game and not all of them live in Japan. NA and EU really need to have merchandise made available to them. Square Enix would be stupid not to take advantage of the large number of players they have for this game by releasing goods related to the game.

Yes, and I agree that more items should be sold in other regions and not just Japan. While the statement seemed to be made more towards the in-game items, I also believe that it should be for all items across the board, in game or merchandise.

I feel that Yoshi should be thinking in such terms for the market as a whole, and maybe SE will consider it. At this moment it seems like he is making minions available to everyone in all regions, as we can see by the two soundtracks with both minions being sold world-wide and the PS4 release with the Moogle. In terms of in-game, it seems he's been true to his word, everything everyone gets is available to everyone in the world who plays if they wish to get it.

But there are many real world items in the JP store that we can not get in EU or NA, and I hope this changes in the future. If the CD's sell well world wide, perhaps they will start making more available and as long as there is a profit, hopefully we will continue to receive more items. I support this idea 100% and hope they move beyond just in-game.

Square Enix are a phenomenally large company. They have no excuse for not paying the shipping charges to send merch overseas. Hell, they could probably just ship their merch to international retailers. They're big enough.

First item that stands out to me there is the Meteor Survivor shirt. Something we've had PAGES and PAGES asking for us to be able to buy. Ugh... I'm very tempted to get someone to buy and ship to me. I didn't think I'd need to go through that kinda hassle for a shirt just to give SE my money.

Not exactly "merchandise", but were NA players ever available to get these? http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Moogle_Earrings - I recall JP players could get the earrings via the FF Collection that wasn't available over here.
