1. Choco-racing (ff7)
2. Triple-Triad (ff8)
3. Tetra Master (ff9)
4. Bliz-Ball (ff10)
5. Sphere Break (ff10-2, think that's what it's called)
Don't know if there's others side games from other ff titles, these are just the ones that come to mind.

All of those things if implemented somehow will include a grind, either to unlock or excel.
If the gold saucer in uldah doesn't have Choco racing. Square-Enix is doing it wrong.
but the grind wouln't be as pain stacking, as you'll be able to do it 100% solo, at least for all but bliz-ball. Also for bliz-ball there can be no random que's, only pre-made grps. That are put against grps of near same lvl's.
with the FFX HD I found myself asking the question "why the hell did I ever play blitzball?"
You wanted Waka's master ball with full upgrade, as well as the 12 combo overdrive. Just because it's the easiest way to get your ultimate sphere grid completed aftewards, and to kill the dark aeons
just THAT

FFXII "Bounty's". No grind you just find your target and kill it. The fun comes in looking for your said prey. It can be as easy as going out to the Sagoli Desert at noon to fight a Jumbo Cactuar or as complicated as having only Female members in your group (excluding you) to hunt a slime in Pharos Sirius.
